I just ordered the AI 7075 Exotek front diff cup to replace the plastic HPI one. I can't wait to run it with some serious wattage

This is a 4WD Mini 17.5T Boosted class we run at our local track:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Every car in this video with the exception of the orange and green car is a Cup Racer.

Stock spur, 27T pinion. The bodies are the Team Titan Blitz.

Hey jx5,
-that is a slick looking Toyota you have.

1) what tires + wheels are those? -and do you like them? -do they balloon up on hard acceleration? (assuming your using a 17t or faster motor).
2) what did you do to get some discoloration on your exhaust (looks like it has realistic discoloration as if it were real).

thx mate

1) those are standard 1/10 52mm Kawada wheels with 3mm offset. Tyres are HPI X patterns. THey shouldnt ballon up if they are belted as most on road tyres are. 1/10 wheels are too big to run with these bodies. only good for looks.

2) I use Tamiya weathering kit 87088. Its design for use as exhaust discolourations.

Got bored and stretched the tires on my Cup racer. Used a mini tire with an F1 wheel. I think it came out pretty badass.

Yes, it does look badass. Jx5's Levin ride also looks badass. I hope my Hpi mini shell once finished is badass.

The weather has finally broke and I finally have some real time on my Cup Racer.

She does torque steer - quite a bit actually. With a little bit of practice I can avoid that and roll on the power.

"Soft" is a relative term. The stock soft tires are actually fairly hard and scuffing them in and heating them up only yields modest results. I'm looking for fitting wider and softer tires from the HPI line-up.

I bought the anti-sway bars. They should have come with it. She wants to spin when turning.

Any thoughts on how to set the anti-sway bars up?

Well it looks liked I'm the only one that runs a cup racer at CharlieB's races.. come on guys, more Cup Racers need to show up... there are a lot of people showing up more Mini 4wd, so come on out its fun.

I new to racing and the second heat was the first time I placed in the top 3 and I might add, I managed to do it with 1 body pin left on the car for the last 5 laps LOL. My Alfa body kept popping up during turns and braking, was pretty funny to watch.

The car holds its own against a field of ABC's. There was one Xray mini there that was sick fast on the back straight, luckily his car was not hooking up or else he would have cleaned up. Im definitely going to gear up for the next race, I'm maxed out on the pinion at 42T, so i'm going to go down on the spur maybe a 60 or even 55.

In the amain i started to traction roll again.. any one else experiencing this?

Good to hear the Cup Racer can hold its own. Maybe you're just a better driver.

The XRay mini uses touring car sized wheels. It's roll out gives it more straight speed.

Sorry no traction roll issues. I run on carpet with foams so I can't help you with an asphalt setup.
