Should launch pretty well in a straight line. Is the front drivetrain pulling like it should? What is the rear toe angle?

there are several things to try for your condition.

as mentioned, rear toe can be set to 3 degrees
you could widen the front width using the wheel hub spacers
you could narrow the rear width using the wheel hub spacers
Harder front springs/ thicker shock oil
Softer rear springs/ lighter shock oil
gripper tires in the rear
less grip tires in the front
turn down your dual rate on your radio
remove some droop from the rear of the car

I would start with a gripper tire in the rear. then try a lesser grip tire in the front and harder front spring. after that I would start removing some droop from the rear.

Well she is ready to go for Speedtech. New set of ABC Hobby tyres on Tamiya rims. Removed chassis spacer on front and rear. Also removed top chassis spacer, which I am guessing lowers roll centre, and were officially RWD, hope its not going to be too hairy.. if weather permits going to test it tomorrow..

I run the treaded S grip's on all four corners. Mind you, I have my cup racer set up as rear wheel drive only (took out front diff/bones/center driveshaft). Works great that way (and is more scale under the Datsun 510 body)

Mine is RWD at the moment, will be running it at a race on Sunday. Let me know what sus settings you are running, so that I have a base line to start with.

Picked up the HW 35a ESC and 13T motor.

Has anyone used this setup on the Cup Racer?
Looking for a Spur/Pinion combo to start with.

Any feedback will be great - thanks

Nice - That would be close to a true 10T 540 motor.

I think I got a bad motor though.
I hooked everything up and when applying throttle the motor would run then pause or stop. I checked everything and all is good to go.
I dont have another motor or esc to test to figure out which is faulty (esc or motor)....

How is the suspension / steering / drivetrain slop on the Cup racer? I'm looking to buy one but I hate slop. Can shimming solve the problem, if there is one?

Thats sound like your throttle is set to reverse make sure your throttle is set to norm and recalibrate your esc/throttle end points I have had alot of hw esc's and never had a problem

Mine is pretty solid and I dont have really any hopups on it everything is original

On another note I was turning some pretty quick (for me) practice laps at my track yesterday and whenever I tried to push it a little harder I kept traction rolling any ideas?

Yup - I tried reverse and forward on the throttle and problem did not go away.
I contacted Hobbypartz and was able to get an RMA for both the ESC and Motor. I hope the turn around time does not take forever.....
