Novak says run a 4:0 with the sinter rotor in 13.5.I am using a 52 pinion with the 102 spur on short technical with know problems. I be racing on a big track this weekend so I goning to go up to a 54 or 55 pinion with should be close to 4:0.

Ok, if your running an MSX (35t/16t pulleys = 2.188 i.r.) your looking at a 55 or 56t pinion for 4 FDR (55 = 4.057, 56 = 3.984)

If your running an MRE or MSXX (or 36t drive pulleys, so i.r. of 2.25), you'll need a 57 or 58 pinion (57 = 4.026, 58 = 3.957)

hey guys,

at the moment im running a GTB/13.5 in my msx. Im using a front one way and a center one way. Soon im going to be running mod with a 4.5. Should i keep the one way in, or use a spool/diff. (i will be running on asphalt)

Cheers

It all depends on the track you are racing on, long curves make it more efficient with one-way. Short sharp turns may make it more efficient with a spool. But all this also depends on your driving style. The only way to find out is to try both

Actually it's easier if you look in the online manuals at the Tamiya site.
http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/manuals.htm

The manual for mre is the one containing a spool and the direct center shaft unit.

The pinion you need for around 9.7 FDR is 23 tooth pinion. Not sure what LRP recommends to start with but I believe that's where my son was running his LRP BL at our local track!

I've got a complete MSX center shaft config with the alloy direct drive pulley and spur gear holder I will sell. Also includes the layshaft stopper. Send me a PM if interested. I can send a pic if needed.

Where did you get the 4004046 part number from? I have not seen that part number before.
