I run the box msxx MRE setup without the rear sway and it works great. I run on similar track at Ripon, CA.

This is my setup that i tried last Wednesday. It is very stable now. This setup will work for both low grip and high grip tracks. The only thing i would change for high grip tracks is put the bushings in the shock caps and go up one spring rate all around.

I dont think there is a major difference. The main difference with the 416 would be the shorter bulk heads at the rear and the bigger center pulleys. The suspension components are pretty similar between the 2.

Major changes for 416:
- 18T center pullies
- 37T main pullies
- More diff balls
- Externally adjustable diff
- 1050 wheel bearings
- separate motor bulkhead
- equal bulkhead contact from left to right on main chassis
- front belt staggered to left of car (requires servo case modification)

Hi, just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Ive just been to 2 race meets and my 415MSX is noticeably slower that everyone else in the field. Im racing 540 class on a medium grip track. The gearing at the moment is 35/78. Is there anything I can do to improve top end speed? Cheers

There's no reason why the msx shouldn't be able to keep up with the rest of the field, it is a very capable car.

If the car is noticably slower on the straights I would suggest looking at the gearing, how good the motor is (time for a new one?) and your charge rate/cells. Providing that is, you're happy with the setup.

Tell me if i'm wrong, but it sounds like you are happy with the cornering though as you only mention top speed...

Cornering speed is very important when you're racing 540's, in the respect that you need to scrub off as little speed as possible in the corners.

hey guys i am after a little help with setup.

i am running a 415 msx on a med grip track

yellow tamiya springs
red sway at rear and yellow up front
540 class
i am chasing a little more slow speed steering, understeers heaps on a couple of tight corners on the track, looking at getting the steering a little more quicker
i was told to try suspeension mount spacers on the rear 0.5mm but when i put them under the rear blocks the arms seem to bind on the rear part of the main chassis as the picture below, any one else have this prob. when i dont have them the arms are nice and free and dont bind.

or what other way will help with more front steering?

I think you're going to have to change the wheelbase so that the arm clears the bulkhead.

Rear your manual you're supposed to remove material from the arms.

I think you might be running the wrong suspension blocks on that chassis run the A in the front and 'c' or 'd' in the rear and you should not have that problem
