That is correct.

I run On-Road but, looking thru the user guide that comes with the X-12, it shows 12.01 as a recommended gearing for 5.5 4wd Off-road.

Allright, thanks.
I'll try an 18 or 17T pinion then. I've got the stock 84T spur.

Rick or Sean, what is the power band like on an Octa wind motor? How would it do in a mod truck? Or should I stick with a normal X-12? I am thinking an 8.5 motor.

Hi, i just got a 13.5 x-12 and for the timing inserts, i recieved two of the 3-dot inserts in the small zip lock bag, plus the 0degree already in the motor. i was just wondering if this is correct or should i have gotten the full range of them.

I seen a couple of guys running low turn motor using the Turbo function of Hobbywing's esc without any problem on 3.5t, 4t and 5.5t. They are not using the X12 tho but i do own one 4.5T Octawind which is just lying about and wondering if i'd be able to get some kicks out of it via my Tekin Rs Pro.. Any advise before i blow up something???

Installed the 4.5T octawind on my tekin rs pro. Wires was all good, A-A, B-B ,C-C. Switch it on, throttle it a lil, the motor spun a bit then POP! The motor is brand new and i rechecked all the wiring and nothing was done wrong. How could this happen????

Free revving motors is not a good thing to do.
Especially mod motors.

What popped ?

The guys on the Off-Road team are still just running the normal X12 motors.
I haven't heard a solid report from anyone that has run both motors back to back to tell what they feel is different.

You more than likely broke the rotor. As Red Bull said it's not wise to free rev the motors especially with the timing boost turned on.
