Now that many more r/c companies are making F1 cars, it might be possible to use their front end pieces on a modified pan car. If you look at Calandra F1 cars, it would be pretty simple to use their front end on a modified pan car, but it might be cheaper to just buy the whole car than customize your own. I will dig out one of my old Indy cars that I raced at the Indy Velodrome and show you the solution that we came up for converting a RC10L3O.

Welp, here’s my foray into F1…
bought a big lot of speed passion stuff from a guy (2 sp1 and an lm1 with a ton of spare parts) to mess around with F1.
I broke everything down completely, cleaned everything and reassembled one F1 chassis from the best parts in the lot. This thing is damn cool for something that was on the more inexpensive side like 8 years ago.
looking forward to finishing it up and trying it out at the track!

And...
Here it is, Mistral 3.3
Pleased to introduce the successor of our Mistral 2.0: the Mistral 3.3.
Mistral 3.3 keeps the V-link suspension at the rear, which has been found to be extremely tuneable to every grip condition.
Up front we've retained all the major features of Mistral 2.0, such as the camber adjustable by turnbuckles, with static caster is adjustable via dedicated shims as well as the adjustable dynamic caster value.
Big point on Mistral 3.3: wheelbase is now adjustable in steps of 5mm for a range of 10mm.
The best part is that changing the wheelbase requires just a couple of minutes and no setup changes, via the use of a 2.5mm carbon subframe that carries all the front-end components.
This feature, allow the servo to be fixed in the lowest possible position, allowing a super low Centre of Gravity.
Another great feature is that changing the wheelbase will not require different body hole positions.
The main chassis is made of 3mm carbon fibre, which allowed them to pocket the battery area, keeping the LiPo extremely low, again in the quest of the lowest CoG possible.
As F1 is raced from wide 1/8 circuit to “mickey mouse” parking lot, Mistral 3.3 is be offered in 2 versions, long and short.
Long one allowing a wheelbase of 275-270-265mm, while the short spec allows a wheelbase of 265-260-255mm.
A conversion kit from Mistral 2.0 to Mistral 3.3 will follow soon.

In my opinion....
We need some 90's style bodies that fit current F1 chassis - there is a ton of decal sets out there that would look great on the older style bodies - think 7up Jordon or Cannon Williams, or ?

belewis01 funny you should mention that 7Up Jordan. I did exactly what you said with the Mon-Tech 22 body- Looks great! I also did my GT12 and GT10 the same way! Send me a Email address and I'll send you pictures( the only why I know how).

Ran my new to me '21 X1 this week. My first time running F1. Looks like I need to flatten my camber a little.

Yes ,soon is coming... between the wife and the kids and the house and you know how it goes but yes soon is right around the corner.... My biggest obstacle is I use a Roland printer and the printhead went out and it was on a national backorder .I tried to buy a Chinese clone off of eBay and that printhead would not print properly .it was junk... The good news is the Roland head ,it's supposed to be in my hands just before Thanksgiving so that should get things up and running rather quickly... Bullfrogs 7-Up car came out really nice he nailed the paint.

Bsthetech the first thing you will want to do running on carpet is trim the lower lip off the sides of that wing ...when you corner those will grab the carpet and drive you crazy. when we run on carpet we shave those off with a exacto or a Dremel or whatever you have and make sure the edges are not sharp or they can grab the carpet sometimes the threads of the carpet come up and the wing will snag them I use sandpaper and round it nice and smooth 👍🏁

Has anyone heard if XRAY are bringing out a X1'22 this year?
