If the throttle profile is changed from 3 to 4 and everything else remains the same, does gearing need to change?

No, it just makes the throttle "feel". Hope that helps

That brings another question to my head.

I race on a 60x40 (approx) track with the following...

Tekin RS
DB off
RS off
BS 100
NW 7
MT BL-FW
TP 3
VC 2
PC off
TB 30
CL off
Sensored
v194

Motor is a Duo (lowest timing) with a final drive of 4.74.

There is another racer with the same motor geared at 5.1 using a LRP TC and had more punch and more top end. Not sure of his settings though.

Part of my issue could be car setup, I need to free it up a little. But, does anyone see any changes I can make to the speedo settings to get more out of it? Or should I just wait till v200 comes out?

Thanks

Tc3 is right. Profiles one through 5 are just like the exponential function on quality radios. Profile 1 is negative expo, 3 is linear, and 5 is positive.

You might want to try having a play with the gearing, maybe the car is feeling lazy because you've geared it for too much speed? But every make of motor is different, i've not used a duo.

How hot does the motor come off after a race?

With the settings above, the motor was 170*.

I've been as low as 5.0 and the grunt out of the corner was ok, but I was really lacking on top end.

With 199 I had severe throttle lag I do not have that with 198...

The JIT error was because I have vista and didnt delete the tekin.esc file...

saw two of these escs in action today at my track. they pulled 10ft on me on the strait. so now i have to have one. does the hotwire interface work on Mac's. thats all we got. is this esc just as adjustable using the buttons on the esc as tuning on the computer. it looks small, powerful, and convenient.

It can be adjusted using the buttons.

But you will only get the factory settings which are well surpassed

So go for the hotwire

No. You can do some of the basics, but not everything. Hotwire is the way to go! You could always get somebody to flash your speedo FOR you...

Go to middle hole timming on the motor and change timing boost to 20. Start out with FDR 5.0. Check your temps after 2 minutes.
