LOL, good call...

Just don't try skimming the fan motor if you get bored with the virtually 0 maintainance on the r/c motor....

Try it by all means, but temp it after a minute or two. Personally I think it's too much timing.
i thought it was 15 but that must be the x11 motor

either the motor or timing boost, try 10 and turbo 10 and watch temps

I sense a TEKIN lock in, no one is allowed to leave HQ until the next shipment of equipment is ready to get out the door...

Correct, it's the X11. the X12 has loads if timing built in already... really doesn't like a lot of additional timing applied to it.

I have run the Nosram version of the 10.5 x12 a few times now, with the standard timing insert and circa 40 on the timing.
It has never gone above 50degC and outside on a medium sized track was a missile that still never really got warm.

Remember, the x12's have a lot of torque so the gearing can be a bit taller than some other motors.

Just for clarity for all reading, is that with a tc too Skiddins, or 1/12th?

Because, as we know, the powerband will differ...

Remember some radios drain more than others too (for example some Spektrum receivers pull higher currents than expected).
Check if the esc wires are capable of delivering in excess of 6A to the radio so the servo is properly powered and assess if you should change them. I changed mine to a wire size equal to that of the servo I use (which is clearly heavier gauge than the little wires the Tekin comes with).

A powerful capacitor might just get you over the drain spikes but I don't regard it as a permanent solution if this is your problem.
i'm actually still running FM in an onroad car 13.5.. my problems occur even when held in the air without load... guess i'll have to use the old servo for this weekend..

My Mamba Max runs pretty hot with my 7700kv and 9000kv. If running an equivalent motor on the RS, would it run nearly as hot?

Basically, I need to keep a close eye on my Castle setup, would i need to keep as close an eye on this one?

And thank you for the info.

Yep, that was TC.

When I ran in the GT10 (before v203) I could never get the motor temp above 45degC no matter gearing I tried, from 45mm/r to 85mm/r
