Yeah,,, when I talked to Wolf he suggested I order it from a Hobby Shop.
I guess that gives the kit some needed exposure and I think maybe even a little bit of a break on shipping and what-not. Also I know there will be someone there to recieve it once it arrives.
You are building yours ? So it does come as a kit ! Awesome.. my C1 came assembled and there were issues. This new car is going to be PERFECT!
The Tekin motor and speedo will look great with all those red anodized parts.
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! :rolleyes: :lol::lol:

Its not done yet, but you guys can get the basics of it. The car is pretty much box stock, the only thing i didnt use, was the gold turnbuckles. : / not the flashiest. lol. I put the ones that i had on my rs for now, but hunting down some red or black ones. the chassis is a little dfferent, but the car goes together so easy and the wolf parts look real good and takes the slop out. On the rs and fs the chassis was bevelled so it wouldnt catch on the carpet, but on this chassis those are gone and the chassis is that much narrower?

slop in the axles

Hey guys,

I'm running the e4rs 09 edition.I do have a question about the amount of play/slop in the axles.this area seems to be the biggest let down of an otherwise fantastic car.

How do u guys solve this problem?

Thanks and regards

jeremy1976 05-27-2009 01:23 PM

It looks real nice! :)

I used some 10x13mm shims to take out the slop on mine.
I put mine right between the outside bearing and the hub.
It is a little trial and error to find the right thickness to take out all of the slop but it worked.
Here is a link to some from nexus racing http://www.nexusracing.com/product_i...oducts_id=2375

Remove the uprights from the car.
Clean the parts with non residue spray ... electric motor cleaner.
Take a Q-tip and some medium super glue and make a thin layer around the plastic there the outer race of the bearing rests. Let it dry and try to fit the bearing ... if it's still lose... add another layer . Make sure you let the glue dry completely before attempting to fit the parts together.

Shimming the bearings on the axle will not remove the slop in these parts , only puts undue stress laterally on the bearings but will make them move together. Not solving the problem just causing others. Good luck with that one. :tire:

What's the deal with wolfhobbies I ordered parts for my E4 and they cancel my order for some reason. I just got an e-mail stating "Your order# 00007532 has been cancelled by the store Administrator. Thank you.":flaming::flaming::flaming::flaming::flaming:

I had placed an order through a local hobby shop and I don't know what happened to it either but that was the second time something like that has happened to me . I don't think anything Wolf had done affected it in that case but perhaps the payment method you used failed. Sometimes if you use a credit card and use a different shipping address the card providers could have denied it. Either way , Wolf would have been more than happy to send your order. I had to call my hobby shop and Wolf to clarify the happenings with my order. It took a few minutes to figure out what happened but rest assured , the order is now on its way. At least mine is...:weird::D

Jochim_18 05-29-2009 07:28 AM

I did use paypal. I guess I'll try it again

I'm sure that everyone would also recommend changing to the aluminum uprights as well. Either the K Factory part or the Wolf Hobbies part will help considerably. I use the K Factory uprights on both of my E4's and they are great! The Wolf parts are less expensive and just as good. The Wolf axles are a great option part as well.(far less complicated and available in aluminum or Titanium)

Rdog 05-30-2009 12:25 PM

Well my situation has changed and so I'm not going to be doing much racing for a while so I have my E4rs DE edition up for sale if any of you are interested. Its the level 3 kit so it has all the goodies and a few spares as well. I put to car together but its never even had the electronic mounted in it. Ill let it go for 500 shipped if any of you are interested. Ill have pics soon. Pm me if interested. I wanted to give you guys first crack at.

John St.Amant 05-30-2009 06:39 PM

First crack..
I didn't care to get my first car pre-assembled with all due respect I like to know if somethings wrong it was my fault. My L3 kit should arrive here Monday and dammit but If maybe next month if you still have it.... maybe P.M. me and or I will you... bad timing. :(

Hey guys,
What are you all using to adjust the aluminum turnbuckles on the E4?
I didn't notice that TM has a wrench specifically for these and I'd hate to use pliers or something damaging like that.

I think I'm gonna make a 7075 turnbuckle wrench like the Lunsford one and see how it turns out.:sneaky:

Isn't it TM has a black fancy looking wrench to adjust those tinny little turnbuckle..? I know all my E4 kits has 1 inside the box...it is a black aluminunm wrench with mutiple sizes like Tamiya type...kinda like 3mm thick too.

Yup// It comes with a nice wrench but its kind of cumbersome to use.
Oh and btw... I got my DE kit today .. YEAH! Oh its so pretty !

Everything about that car is CG.
No ,lol not cover girl!
Just figured it would be that much lower with the wires routed like that.
I didn't feel there was enough room in the right side by the pinion for the blue one to go there too. The sensor wires are in there as well. This chassis is screaming for a Novak Ballistic motor !!! I ran it today only once and after the race Wednesday night but what a car.
2deg camber
35wt associated oil
K factory #21 front and #26 rear springs.
direct drive spool. Blue Jaco Prism premounts.
The word for today is BALANCE.
Please make a note of it.;)
My 416 is getting converted to VTA :lol::lol:

Wolf tells me his car works everywhere he goes.
Without changing more than just tires.
I'd give a go like what I listed previously.
Any motor... any surface... indoors or not.

I thought in this world, only Tamiya TA05R/IFS-R is the only car that can do 1 setup and use it for indoor carpet, outdoor parking lot and foams without doing setup change...LOL

Thanks...
