E4 RS 09

Hi,

Just as i was taking a 'sabatical' from racing the E4 was just being launched, it looked like an interesting concept so as i'm thinking about starting up again i took a look at TM's homepage and saw that the RS 09 was their latest model.

It looks to have some nice refinements from the original, but i'm finding information on it hard to get, so if anyone in the know could answer the following it would really help...

1) Is the RS 09 available to buy yet (if so any links to model shops - UK Preferably)
2) Does anyone have a copy of the RS instruction manual they could post here?
3) If the RS 09 is out and being run by a few on this forum what are your opinions of the car?

Thanks all for your help

Chris

I suggest the Dave Erlick Edition. It's the second one from the top and has everything you would want included in the kit. I hope it doesn't come assembled tho.... I do so much enjoy building my own race cars and my C1 came completely assembled. Incorrectly I might add. The instructions suck too but once your cars is dialed you may forgive them for overlooking those details. :tire:

rezenclowd3 04-29-2009 01:12 PM

That looks like a blast! Wonder if it would be helpful to put on some VTA tires with grooves in it....

Chevrons in the tread would be best. If you could only get the compound soft enough and channel all the water out and not under the car.

Here is a pic a couple pics of my car, tried to put up a setup sheet but said it was too big?? have to run to work so i will try again when i get back home. Basically its a e4rs, have some of the new wolf hobbies parts tho. By far the best investment yet.

Running the new axles, and rear hubs, and the front steering blocks. the rear blocks take the rear slop out, which makes the car feel so much more consistent. elctronics running novak 13.5 and tekin rs with a thunder power 5000 40c.

Ill try again when i get home, if y'all have any questions ill be around. later guys.

Single v Double bellcrank Steering

Has anyone noticed any differences between the single and double bellcrank steering setups?

I have the single one but am using the outer ackermen hole. I want to try the double one cause the Losi car uses it and seems to work very well for Dave Johnson.

Hello every one I have a problem.

Im running the fist E4 with a 10.5 Brushless. On rough hot mix asphalt

And whats happeing is that the left front tyer is getting absolutly hammered. What seems to be happeing is that the Right front is beening lifted up and the car is just leaning on the left. Im having to adust the camber for it to wear evenly. But at this rate the tyers gonna be gone very fast. Does any one have any tips or know what i should do to stop it lifting the right.

Ps i am running the solid in the front. No sway bars, Tyers 28s with medium inserts.

Usually if one end of the car is lifting a tire the other end is too soft.
28's may be a bit soft as well. Try using a rear sway bar and or stiffer springs/oil in the rear. Check track temperature as well. 32's or even 36 durometer tires might be more suited for your application. If you have to run so soft due to the condition of the surface you are on then dialing it in may be a bit more tricky. Smooth and less coarse surfaces will result in better longevity as well. I remember a race in Modesto CA that you absolutely needed a new set of tires ... EVERY RUN! So don't feel too badly. And good luck.

Please tell me thats the plastic one.
I highly recommend the aluminum ones.
That are tons stiffer, more trustworthy and only 3 grams heavier.
