I highly recommend the aluminum ones.
That are tons stiffer, more trustworthy and only 3 grams heavier.

I'm 99.99% sure that is the plastic bulkhead:)

I've Just ordered my Level 3 D.E. kit and now all I can do is hope that Larry orders it from Wolf and it gets here before I have a micro-cardial infarction.

I already have a C1 and hop ups galore.
But not quite as refined as the Limited Edition with all the Wolf hardware on it.
The C1 I have only has the pulleys, the mid-block , K factory bumper and the roll center mounts. If I were to get all the trick new gadgets ... I would have spent it all for spare parts. So what the hell right? It is a good car , no matter what my friends say , this is the most balanced and predictable ride I've had in years . It's dialed for Vintage T/A and the HPI side belt you told me about made all the difference in the world. Please please please come as a kit and not assembled.....

Wolf sent me the new side pulley/brace and wow you have so much room to move the motor. also the Aluminum upper side brace (replacing the plastic one) helps the chassis flex that causes the side belt to skip. Great hup ups, and I also got a newer stonger bumper brace :sneaky:

Hi guys Im interested in the E4JS Tub Version of this car,

Was after some info

1. Can any one tell me if Tekin brushless motors and Intellect IP3800 35C will fit, as the description says "Most brushless & li-po's will fit"

2. Also is this car upgradable to carbon chassis if i want to.

3. Do standard spurs fit, and whats the lowest FDR You can get for 17.5 racing if you are forced to use TM spurs only.

Cheers :)

mild seven 05-17-2009 02:35 AM

Hey.

Yeah the 3800 pack should fit in Fine. I had to take the upper layshaft holder off to get my Speed Passion motor in not sure if the Tekin motors are shorter in length compared to them.
Im not sure if you can upgrade it to carbon chassis, looks like u would have to change a fair bit on the car. I could be wrong tho.
any brand of spur gear should fit. I used Xenon gears on my E4 with out any mods.

LOSI123 05-17-2009 03:58 AM

Also where is the best place online to get Parts.

And does the Tub chassis version have a fairly flat chassis/Tweak easy.
(Never had a Tub chassis)

I don't believe the Tekin motor will fit with out some filing. The can is very rectangular and for all practical purposes "square" on the end and well, before Wolf had some mods done to the carbon chassis the can would not fit. But With a Dremel and a careful eye you can get it in there.

LOSI123 05-17-2009 03:35 PM

My main concern was getting my tekin brushless to fit in the E4 JS (Plastic version of this car) the tekin and speed passion are the same motor dimensions im prety sure.

Is thier a cheaper spool than $64 U.S. ?

If you dont want to spend the money for a spool just take the diff balls out clean the diff rings and glue a piece of header card on the diff ring side that touches the pulley. Tighten it up and it should work just fine and it will give you slip incase of a crash.

...QUOTE]

I had a Speed Passion motor and it didn't fit in my E4JS. The upper chassis support at the back of the motor doesn't clear. What I used instead is the Losi Xcelorin motor. The Novaks fit also. The problem with the Tekin/ Speed Passion/ Trinity cans is that the back of the motor is squared such that it doesn't clear the support. However, the Xcelorin and the Novak have a bevelled edge which clears the support. Either that or cut the support but I didn't want to do that.

YR4Dude 05-20-2009 12:19 PM

BTW, does anyone have a better solution to the crappy thumb nuts on the battery hold down for the E4JS? I was hoping for something better like a thumb screw that srcews into the chassis that stays on the hold down much like the battery strap on the XRay. Anyone have any idea where I can get that kind of hardware to mod my battery hold down?

Thats such a trick question... How big is the track? What speedo are you running? I'm on a 100x36 track and am using 6.2 final with a Fantom Ion... Timing at 10 degrees and max punch (8) on the LRP SPX. The Xenon gears work very nicely and are available in one tooth increments. 105 spur and 35 pinion.

Jochim_18 05-21-2009 09:41 PM

I got my E4 original version for sale car run 3 times on asphalt. I will let it go for $250 shipped. Front belt is stripped though..... It's didn't hold up well in mod.....

Congratulation to Dave Ehrlich for a fine result at the RROC. Large field of World Class racers with factory back up. Missing the invite sort was how it went. But then Dave took the A main in big style.

Well done Dave, look forward to being your hazard back at TZ 1 and 2.

Congrats again Dave and Team Wolf.

Which kit is for us carpet racers?
I want to try rubber tire carpet next year with a car made for it. Wolf Hobbies definitly has a lot of choices but you guys all seem to run on asphalt. Last year I tested rubber tire with an RDX with a 10.5 and did OK. I am far from a great racer, just an average club racer. So, of the six or so variants, which one should it be for 10.5, rubber tire, technical carpet track, club racing.

I run the e4rs on rubber tire carpet. Its has been the best rubber tire car for me since i have been racing. I just recieved my DE special edition and i am building that for this year carpet season, and it should be even better! Wolf Has made parts that will make the car that much better. His front and rear hubs take the slop out of the car and the new red anodizing makes it that much cooler. But either way you go the e4 in my opinion is a great car on carpet.

John St.Amant 05-26-2009 05:07 AM

WEEZY 05-27-2009 05:47 AM
