Car looks great, just needs some more METAL....
http://liquidmetal.com/ this technology pretty much has come around in the last few years. The ability to cast very precise yes stronger than normal Titanium products. Most metals have crystaline structure, or you can have amorphous structure like glass. The result with an alloy twice as strong as steel or normal titanium alloys with the casting performance of plastic. Say goodbye to the brown Spring Steel and hello shiny Liquidmetal for: layshafts, axle stubs, out drives, and turn buckles. What do you think Joel, going to give liquidmetal a try? |
Just got reply from Team Magic, the car will cost around $400 That's more than TC5!!

Had it on my hand last Sunday, from what I saw there is no problem to fit hardcase LiPO, maybe replacing bottom loading plate is enough, unless it's way too big.
|
would be nice to find out if the E4 takes the hard case li-po's though ,before i get my hope's up
if it does not take the ever increasing popular Li-Po then ............. i've reg on there site ,waiting for activation now looking @ the spy shot on their forum , the li-po hard case (orion 4800/trakpower) won't fit the orion 3200 might do though ,which isn't to bad we shall see |
Q) are the diff ball tungstun??
are Tit screws on this car ??? |

Arms
The first time I bought a pair of extra-hard arms for my Xray I almost choked and looking at these arms with the aluminum support I can almost imagine how expensive they'll be, but overall looks like a decent car...still don't get the three belts though.

So.......here it is.
The E4 is actually going to make an appearence before the end of the year! I didn't think it would happen but TM are going to make it happen. Now that the M1B Turbo 1/8th scale nitro buggy is out and being delivered to our warehouse as we speek.................... The next TM car is set to make its way to stores accross the U.S ! The E4 !! Next will be the E5 ?!! !/8th scale on road car. Really seams like Team Magic are trying to take on all the classes now. Will be interesting to see who they get to drivre the E4...........I understand they (TM) are in talks with a TOP (!) driver to take on the roll ! All very secretive!! Still, for us mortals, its nice to see a quality made car thats off the beaten track so far as design goes..................good job TM. It looks as though you've done a good job with the E4....congratulations!! British Menace |

i have e-mailed nick for that, mr jolly.
if he says no i'll  |
maybe i can see one in person at cleveland
the car is nice it might just replace my cyclone |
My mystake.
Ooops, yes. Typo last time sorry !!
1476 is with a 6 cell pack. On the "Who will be supporting the car in the U.S" question. That does depend on TM Model and TMA Marketing & Distribution. But one thing is for certain, I will be! So there will be kits and parts to support the kits too when it is released. None of this kits and no parts senario any more. So no worries there, ok. British Menace |

So i seriously hope Nick Ko tells me (us) Orion carbon lipo or even Trakpowers 4900 fit. I really like this car and the new concepts it has. Michiel Huygelier :sneaky: |
This car looks very cool. My main concern is those suspension arms. It seems to me that that center aluminum rod would bend with a good hit tweaking the suspension as aluminum won't bend back as the composite.

However, I don't promise all lipo pack can be used since they are of quite different sizes. Just kidding......but it is odd how we are all prepared to change our cars for "tuning reasons" or something that we think will make the car better but frown on a couple of washers added to make a Li-Po fit. ?? My view is that TM should have a Li-Po fitting Kit. Because Li-Po is the future! Doesn't really matter if it's legal or not. It will be legal soon. And sooner the better. Get rid of the old, bring in the new. Old, antiquated classes with brushed motors and NiMh batteries are fast going out. A new car should accept the new Li-Po's and brushless systems!! That's what I say. But it looks as though alot of the Li-Po batteries will fit in the cars stock state with the addition of a few "REALLY DIFFICULT" to fit washers. Maybe the more adventurous and inventive of us out there will figure out a way to fit larger Li-Po batteries in the car. Don't you think that should be Team Magic to do that Nikko?? Either way, the car looks like a real racer and a very cool looking and inovative designed car. British Menace |

Probably the same as on the G4 gas car or similar. These pins don't bend very easily at all !! Infact in 6 years of racing Team Magic cars I have only bent two, (I think ) They are much much stronger then the composite crap you see on allot of cars and the flying wing arms are very strong and durable too. Believe me, the hinge pin area is probably going to be one of the cars strong areas !! British Menace |
He was talking about the aluminium tubes molded in the arms.
Anyway, i dont see why a simple lipo batt tray like Losi makes for the JRX-S type R would not allow most lipo made for 1/10th cars to fit? Will Team Magic make that? or should i buy a JRX-S type R? :p |
With this been such a new car I think Team Magics first focus is to the active race program, but I am sure they will adress the lipo batt issue.
I know in the Us guys only play with lipo when you go to the track you do not see much lipo or brushless because stock and 19 turn are still the most popular. I believe you can take the tube out of the arms if you would like.Again we race on carpet with foam on high bite surfaces so we think stiff arms will be a good thing. We cant wait to try this car the losi platform is similar and is working well. |

Sorry I missed the point on the aluminium parts.. It will be nice though to see this kit put through it's paces by some really good drivers!! :sneaky: British Menace |
Keep in mind this,
Nick Ko said too me the car is mainly for RUBBER tires.:D |
