I'm impressed with the car and the support from drivers on here. Those who know me from the G4 thread(s) know I like to be part of this kind of "team" so now I'm seriously considering buying the E4 probably the RS.
Ooooh nice! British Menace |

If your LHS doesn't carry TM products then try to support Wolf Hobbies, He has really made a nice effort with all the different variations.
Steve The key here, that everyone seams to be already using, is that information about the car and driving it is given out freely and to everyone. That way everyone gets to know the 'in-&-outs' of the car, what best to use in what situation and where to get parts and help from. That is the biggest attraction to the E4, that you guys are already doing this..............thats just great!! All the best to all on here. Hopefully, I'll be joining the team soon. those pieces should be in your kit when you bought it , but you really dont need them , just mount the battery where you want it in the battery tray the njust use strapping tape to hold the pack in place.
Otherwise TM sells pieces separately this? REFERENCES IN WHAT? THANK OLIVIER.G |

Thought that I would make it easy for everyone and show some nice measurements so that it could help people in the future. A nice and easy mod to be getting on with.

Is anybody running the E4 with a 17.5? If so what pinion, spur combos are you running as I dont think a 60/110 combo would fit right? This is in 64 pitch

anyone interested in very good condition run twice TM E4? But I broke one of the front CVD and don't have time to fix i'm looking to get $275 shipped. On road is pretty much dead in my area I'm currently building a 1/8th scale off road track. If anybody here have a 1/8th scale buggy or truggy let me know I can trade?

Not to rain on your guy's parade about the E4 but is it really any good? I mean when everyone saw the prototypes in the begining everyone said it was going to be horrible and the stupidest design ever. Im just a little curious.

E4 Shocks
Hi,
Eventually built the E4 RS and can't wait for it's maiden race this weekend in the first round of the UK's STCC championship. Can't wait, the car's been great is testing so far! Has anyone tried different piston setup's in the shocks? I would like to run 3-hole pistons instead of the standard 2-hole, but can't find any optional spares. Anyone aware of other makes that will fit? I've tried the tamiya pistons, but they are slightly too small. Thanks for everyone's help, |

Go back and read the last 10-15 pages on this thread and rear drivers reports on the car and you'll get a good idea of well the car is doing...its really good. Easy and fun to drive and very well made. |

Thanks for everyone's help, On the shock piston front, TM have some optional piston sets with 1,3 and 4 holes. Not sure of the PN though. Will try and find out. Also, with the G4 we had a lot of success enlarging the 2 holes to 1.2 and 1.3mm. It slowd fluid movement within the shock body. Keeping oil temp down and thus giving a good, consistant feel thoughout the weekend of racing. We typically had to go up 15WT from stock hole size to the new enlarged sizes. I hope this helps. Thanks for everyone's help, ive tryed 3 1.2mm hole pistons with 40 in the rear and 45 in front it didnt work that good ive no gone to kit pistons and 35wt in the front and its alot better. as far as i no no other pistons will fit coz the team magic are thinner then other makes... im going to southend on sunday if u need any help come over either me , leigh and trev will help as we have been running the e4s since xmas. look for the VW GREEN sharon reg R8 BSM .. |
For me, the best are 40wt and kit piston, in all 4 shocks. I tested, this weekend some things, the new shocks, from RS, are better than the originals E4, the nylon pulleys work well, but in the center axle is best the alu pulley, because with the nylon, the belt jump from pulley.
The top deck, from RS is more flex, and work very well with the original chassis, and the last test, is the overdrive like touring gas car, I tested a 34T pulley in front, from Xray, this change front ratio to 2, i feel the car more aggressive, and a little more fast into the Slow zone of track, no differences in speed, and more consumption of front tyres, but i need some more packs, for clear conclusions. Greetings, Luis C. |
Thanks for everyone's support with the question on shock pistons, some good suggestions to try out.
It'll be good to see a couple of other E4's racing this weekend, look forward to it. Will try and meet up on Sunday. |
