In other hand, i have a TM E4 and E4RS, i wait for a E4FS, i work in the setup a lot of time, but my car not work at 100%, i tested some parts, mixed parts,etc... but always, the car good excelent in Mid/high grip, but in Mid/low has more understeer, some times work well, but in extremes setups, Stabilizer rear 1.4, front 1.2, more hard rear springs, rc high, but in this cases the rear is a litle imprecise, and don´t have suficient grip, for a comfortable driving, i need some help, this weekend i like to tests some things, for a 1rd Nationals in the next week.
I race in Modified,5 cells, control tyre Sorex 36.

Thanks in advance, Luis C.

OK, Muchas gracias, Marcos:sneaky:, these are the setups you post some time ago?, my base setup is very similar to the second, tomorrow and the sunday go to the track to test, i print the setups and test in the track.
First, i go to test some ideas, and new parts, and next i put your second setup, i like more.
I mount, the Alu K-factory rear hubs with 1.5º with the pivot block in 1.5, too, i think the car having more traction.
I have done the same thing that Marcos, but with HB sway bars.
A friend, buy the Kfactory sway bars, and the feeling is very similar.

Olivier, now i have a mixed car, with E4 normal chassis, E4RS top deck, RS motor mount, is lighter, RS rear diff (but now go to mount the original diff, because the nylon diff, have a much wear in the axle), i run with 4.0, 3.5 and 3.0 motors, nylon pulleys in side belt, Nylon c-hubs and RS news shocks.
The car run great, excelent handling, also with Lipos and 4.0, is more fast than the best touring gas cars, with 400$+ motors, but i feel, i need more and best setup to go at 100%

Greetings, TM boys, Luis C.

Sorry, I do not understand the question.

I use, the lightweight battery tray from RS, in the E4, without problem.

yes

Solara 04-05-2008 11:28 AM

Ok....between E4FS and E4RS, the different are the follows...

(1) Rear ARM are different on FS, front both use the same arm
(2) Ball diffs F/R on FS, Ball diff R on RS and Spool on F
(3) 3 degree on RS and 6 degree C-hub on FS
(4) Single steering pod on FS and Dual on RS
(5) Upper and lower chassis different between the 2. Thicker on FS
(6) Mid pulleys are diff....same on side pulleys
(7) No bumper steer spacer on FS, 5mm on RS
(8) Steel front alum rear CDV on RS, both alum F/R CVD on foam

Can someone point out what else are different...? Other internal or chassis different between the 2?

Apparently, WOLF is probably the only place in the planet earth has FS parts and kits, not even Team Magic Base in Taiwan has 1 single parts and kits. And by adding the above parts together....buying a kit is a lot CHEAPER then upgrading/stocking the FS parts............is that correct?

Thanks everyone....

The FS internal ratio is 1.8 i think and the RS is 2.059

Of course....the internal pulleys/diff pulleys are 17 vs 18 and 34 vs 35T.

In Rcshopping or Wolfhobbies, is possible, but is you like i talk with Spanish distributor tomorrow, because the friday he said me, the next week arrived more parts. Maybe it is better to buy a whole car, because you have all parts, new parts and spares.

In other hand, yesterday and today, i make more hours of testing, some work and others no, for me.
In first, the rear hubs (kfactory 1.5º), are a option to have, the car is more planted with 3º rear.
Now the anti-squat rear, work best, the car is more easy when brake, and have very good aceleration.
In front, the same, the car is good enter to the turns, have more steering, but with the rear most caught.
Definitely, for me, work best the HB stabilizers, front and rear, i feel the car more roll, is more round into the turn.
I use, HB springs, too, but this is more personal, the Lbs are the important thing.
There is one thing, which was not explained, in the front rear pivot block, the ball conector support seems to work slighty better, pointing up rather than put a 1 mm washer below ¿...? .
Finally, i test the Marcos, 2º setup, and the word is "smooth" , but for me, the lap times are slowest, is possible my skills are not than good, i haved to change some things.
In front, i put a 1.4 stabilizer, and 1mm F - 1.5mm R, below pivot blocks.
In rear, ball conectors up and 0.5 below, and 1mm rear.
With this changes, for me, are 0.3 - 0.5s, faster lap, but i use Sorex 36, because is the control tyre, for races here, and i need to adjust the car to this tyre.
Well, with this setup i put the rear hubs 1.5º + 1.5º in pivot block, (3º in total), and put 2 mm below upper link, front and rear, and the car are more fast, the grip in the track are slighty best, too.

Is normal, one setup is not possible to work perfect all people, the driver, the track, the grip, ...are more factors, but this setup work good, and helped me, thank you very much.
I hope, help to others TM drivers.

Here a photos, with 5300 Nosram Lipo, and HB stabilizers fit front and rear.

Greetings Luis C.

Marcos.J 04-06-2008 02:06 PM

luic 04-06-2008 02:19 PM

Mp reply, thanks Marcos. The turnbuckles are HPI titanium, i have from Cyclone car, is not special, is because i have a tool for this turnbuckles, and is more easy to adjuts the camber.

Greetings, Luis C.

How do you adjust the lower roll centre settings? ie; kick up/anti dive - anti squat/ pro squat settings.

Also how is the rear toe angle changed?

Cheers
Aaron

Shims under the alloy suspension blocks adjust the roll centres and the toe-in is adjusted by turning the plastic holders in the alloy suspension blocks.

Arrows facing out = 2.5 degrees, Arrows facing in = 1.5 degrees.

Hey guys just a quick question. I've been following this car for awhile now. I just have a couple of questions.

what the difference in all the different models. I think the RS is the top model for aphalt racing.

my next question does the Rs, comes with a spool or a one way or??

just curious know that you guy's been running the car for awhile. how does it stand up to breakage.

and If one should go to the car. what would be the import spares to carry on hand.

I was thinking on going lipo but don't want to butcher my 415 mre.

I race mainly stock and 19. 90% on Asphalt. on a small to medium track with sugar water layed down.

Thanks for any info.

I purchased a E4 FS-C1 edition from Wolf Hobbies. It's a foam spec modified to run on asphalt and has the convertable oneway to make the spool. Have not tried it yet, waiting for the snow to melf here in Montreal. Will be running 10.5/19T class with a SMC4000 lipo that fits great.

OK. What do you think is the best Li-Po Battery, Esc. and Brushless Motor set-up for the E4 and which E4 to get?

I'm looking at running the car both indoors and out on Tarmac on Rubber tires!
I'm not sure what the new classes for the Brushless are but I was thinking of whatever the "stock" equivelent is.

Pardon my ignorence about electric and classes etc.

Thanks for the help.

Doug Lemmons, ok no problem with permision of Marcos ;), tomorrow i write the setup sheet.

For me, the best combo for E4, Nosram ISTC, Nosram 3.0, and Nosram VTEC 4600, no Lipo here, but Nosram 5300 and 4.0, is more fast than the bests touring gas cars.:tire::cool::)
