dragnse7en,
I use the TAO-3 balldiff, built as per the instructions. When I place the screw in I use blue loctite to prevent it coming loose. This stops having to do so many diff rebuilds. For tightness I do the screw all the way up and then back off about a eigthth of a turn. The Exige system has not proven itself to the importer in the US, who is Shaun Palmer at Schumacher. I think they are waiting for a more robust system. Web-site is www.racing-cars.com Hope it helps Later Calvin. |

Very Kewl pic Ashley!
Question for the M03 Bashers out there. Has anyone tried using RC18T Road Rage tires by Proline on their Mini? I have heard of people using the RC18T off-road tires on their Mini's for Rally Racing before so just wondering if anyone tried the on-road tires before? Haven't done it myself, but I think it'd be fine for just pavement and car park bashing. Wouldn't work for racing though, because you end up with squashed sidewalls to get RC18 tires onto Mini rims and the tyres move side to side a lot on the rims because of that. Fine on an off-road surface or for bashing, but would be weird on an on-road circuit where you want some precision in steering. |
They said I shouldn't do it...
They said I couldn't do it... But I did it... :sneaky: http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...5/DSCN9048.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...5/DSCN9047.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...5/DSCN9046.jpg Tony can you use these? :D Taken at Meakin Park offroad, M03 with Northcraft Caterpillar, mini rims and proline mini bowties (thanks tony for the inspiration) |
Mahalo's for the info Tony!
Just what I wanted to hear. I had'nt seen the 18T tires on Mini wheels myself so I was not sure how they fit on there. But good to know that they would work for non-race useage. Ashley once again Great Pics of the Caterpillar! Great Action Shots! |
Ash, those almost deserve a special page all of their own!
They'll be on the site soon... |
Tony...pulled the MO3 apart and started again...think I found the problem..I was usihg a 3003 sevo(tried 2)but they both seem very eratic ..not centering...so I will try a digital KO (overkill I know)
with the splice tyres do you need to double stuff them?...I found with the Tamyia60 they got slightly lumpy and actually one front one has a small split on the inside where the rim is Bob |
SPICE TYRES
Barger,
I am not Tony, however I have only used one Hard Tamiya foam insert in the Spice tyres. They work well on the rear of the Mini. A few of us run them at our local track. I have only used them on the front once, however I had setup problems at the time. Most of us are running 60D's on the front with Sorex insert outer and blue or old mini black foam closest to the rim. With the tyres packed this way, I have run 6 x 5 min qualifiers, 3 x 5 min finals, 6 x 6 min qualifiers, 1 x 6 min final and 1 x 8 min final and am just starting to get a groove in one tyre. This does not include the practice times for three different events. I know most of the other guy's have used a similiar insert, especially at Windsor. Later Calvin |
Bob, good timing... I only tried Spice tyres for the very first time this afternoon. Tried both 36's and 28's and both of them were setup with Spice moulded inserts, figuring that its usually best to utilise the stuff that they design themselves.
And..they worked very well. I'd certainly be happy to run them like that again with no hesitation. They certainly do not need double stuffing. Thats a 60D only trick. Meam Looking Mini
Hi there girls and guys, okay, I need one of those mean looking mini bodies I saw on the rc-mini site. I think they are marked as Chevron? You know, the ones with the big wing and big scoop and big guards.:sneaky: If so, where can I get one if they are still made. Hey Ash, you have raised the bar racing the Bug on the dirt track:nod:,,well done. Cheers from Rob J.

More importantly where can I get one of those awesome caterpillar bodies?
|
Rainbow Ten in Japan usually have both, but they are out of stock at the moment.
RC Mart in Hong Kong have the Caterpillar shell in stock though |

Hi, I had the same problem earlier tonight (newly installed SP Exige)
Re-programmed Exige using DNA seup unit (Thanks Calvin!) however, this did not fix problem. Finally fixed problem by selecting another 'model' on my radio (an unused one) This forced radio to default settings. Turned on Radio, full throttle, turned on Exige...beep once or twice, released throttle...then throttle again, motor spun Ok, all seems ok now...and no more continous beeps! I think that perhaps EPA's and all settings must be set back to default or maximum etc....in any case, this worked for me...hope it helps. Cheers, Carl |
Question for those familiar with US TCS rules:
What can be done to the gear diff and still remain legal for TCS races? Fully locked? shimmed tight but still with diff action? packed with grease(tamiya or other) to tighten it up? Basically, where is the line? |
Does anyone have a pic of a HPI Honda Civic body mounted on a M03-M?
thanks, eric |
You mean like this?
