The reason behind using lock diff is to achieve maximum forward traction on both wheels while exiting corner.

On 11 Aug 2008, well over 50 peepz from all over New England, other nearby states, and forgeign countries overseas will want to participate in the TCS with their M03s.

The local shop's track, R/C madness, in CT, can't handle the TCS, but yet they insist they can (and did it very poorly) hold up thru the past years. The TCS director will be pressured to cut corners to accomodate the rest of R/C Madness's schedule, due to time constraints, and kill time by making it all happen in the same time it takes for the average race. He will make the call for over 12 cars like he did last year.

It's all a fender bender and crash magnet, waiting to happen there, if they plan to run it on their current schedule. That's just another reason why I'm out!!!!

I certainly hope they do less than 8 at a time. I've seen the track. It's small and super tight. No room for full speed - even for a Maubauchi Motor (barely obtainable unless it's fresh out of the box for a kit.).More than 6-8 car heat would not be good for the TCS races there. But, as I have found out, there are way over 50 entants already. That will eat up a day or two heh.

The Seattle TCS is running 6 car heats for quals and 8 car mains. 7 with a bump. We got 30 mini entries so far this year, it's gonna be fun.

Fun is an understatement. Somewhere in getting ready for TCS I forgot to get the sedan ready because I was having such a good time running the mini. Especially when running with the GT3 guys and giving them a run for their money. Oh well, I still have a few days to prep the sedan.

Quick Q, how much weight, if any, are you guys adding to the Orion 3200 LiPo when being run in a mini?
I have a fear that it might be too light with none... but then again, haven't currently got a motor in the car :p
The LiPo is about 160g lighter than my Sanyo 2400's I had previously been using.

I personally run 1 oz under each "wing" of the battery and it makes a big difference. Other than that if I were to add more I would mount it inside the rear chassis as close to the battery as possible and maybe some on the front bumper.

Ed, we run an extra 120 gms distributed inside the front and rear bumper and a little inside the rear chassis.
With no weight at all the car has a huge tendency to traction roll..
Plus, most ruling bodies will stick a minimum weight limit on Minis once they start running lipos, so inevitably you'll need to add weight anyway.

I run my Mini to the TCS required 1,300 grams minimum weight.

With a 3200 Orion LiPo I had to add 140g to get my car to weight 1303 grams.

I'm only really using the car for a bit of a laugh at local club meets (although you wouldn't think of it too look at it... :sneaky: ), but still don't want to spend the whole time rolling over :p
I'll add a load of weight to the bumpers. I can get some underneath the battery too, but I'll have too glue that on, and grind off some of the lettering to be able to slot the battery in properly.

You can also add weight above that battery as there is a cavity in the top part of the chassis, no body will know they are there!!!
