O.k. here we go, two questions:-
What’s a good reasonably quick and light servo (not necessarily digital) for my MO3?
I'm a strong believer in keeping my MO3 Mini light, how light weight wise about 1.15kg AUW. I think I can squeeze a bit more out if it if I make some carbon hinge pins.
So is weight an issue in performance, yes or no?
Being a good driver helps I know, but let’s focus on that last question

HI guys,
Just back from my first race wth M03 agains the TT01 and TL01 in the local TCS.
Using a 21T pinion I was almost on the same top speed of the avarage TT01 set-up ... but quite off compared to the top cars.
Anyhow ... I managef to be in front of some TT01 and TL01, but not many ...
I have used for the first time the Type A tires for Mini ... and with these tires I was not able to avoid some bad rolling if I was not sensible enough with the steering.
I have tried out to lower the car ... but no way ... I'm using the standard oil mini shocks : "50519 C.V.A. MINI SHOCK" ... even If I full press the shocks I can't go very down in the ride height. I'm using stock spings without any sping load.
I'm also thinking to use a very light servo ... and replace my 20g RX (on to of the car) with a 4g RX.
Any idea on how reduce ride height with CVA Mini Shock ?
Thanks

At the moment if I fully push down my M03 with hand ... I can't make the body touch the ground, since first the suspension get fully compressed, and it doesn't allow any more travel down ....
should I short the piston and the cylinder ? Are allowed F201 cylinder in M03 TCS ???

e_lm_70 : By lowering your your suspension, you are lowering the Center of Gravity. You are actually bringing the weight closer to the ground. Suspension travel is not as critical here. The M chassie is very top heavy, you need to lower it to be competitive. Start with 7mm spacer in the front shock and 6mm spacer in the rear, see what happens. Also place your radio equipment inside the chassie or as low as possible. This should reduce the rolling you are encountering.

If anyone was looking for a somewhat complete list of TCS legal M03 hop-ups, I've created this:
I also found a page on Tamiya's website with parts compatability info:
http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcitem/rcitem.htm
The stuff on my list is on my M03, so I know those parts are good. If anyone knows of other items that are TCS legal and worth using, let me know so I can add them to the list.
