TBLE02 is a hit or miss with brushless motors. I have like 10 of them and for some reason some of them get flaky with anything but a light application even with a 21.5T. I've added a fan and it helps but not sure, some are worse than others.

So I decided to only run brushed motors (silver or black cans) with the TBLE02's.

For cars that I prefer brushless, I got a handful of cheapo Hobbywing XR10 stock ESC. Works great. :D

So you already tried and the esc get hot when using bl motor?

Really? I'd pick the HW over the Tamiya every time. The Tamiya isn't really a Tamiya anyway. I think it's a generic ZTW rtr model.

Agreed, if you already have the Tamiya ESC, then it may be worth trying, but if you're looking to buy, then just get a Hobbywing XR10 Justock. Trust us, you will NOT regret it. My first HW was the original Justock(won it at a VTA race in the Dallas area), & figured since I had it, I may as well try it(had been a hardcore Novak & Tekin guy before that, for over 20 years), & once I tried it in my Ta05v.2(my VTA car), I was hooked, performed EVERY bit as well as the Novak GTB I had in the car before, so since then, every time I've needed a new ESC I've bought HW's(now have a full V3.1, 3 V3.1 Stock Specs, 2 Justocks & now I just picked up a V3.1 1S for my return to 1/12 scale pan cars). And most notably, when I built my current mini(an M05ver.2R), I first had to use my full 3.1(all aluminum, was their top dog before the new XR10 Pro came out, my 3.1 was the only one I wasn't using at the time), & recently, when I finally had the chance, I switched over to the XR10 Justock, I can honestly say there was NO difference in how well the mini ran(not in feel or lap times). If you buy a Justock, you will NOT be disappointed....:cool:

So is it ok if i try pairing the tamiya tble with skyrc ares BL 17.5t motor?

If the esc can hold it then i just continue using it.. if not i just buy the toro esc 60a (that have the same brand with the ares motor)

I bought new combo justock but 13.5t motor..

Soooo when i want to use 17.5t, i just switch the motor and plug it the ares motor to justock esc?? And vice versa

Huh? :confused: I'm saying that the XR10 is the way to go with brushless, not the TBLE02.

kytr8matic - TBLE02 does well with the basic silver cans and black cans, but I suggest you get at least a JustStock XR10 for your brushless application. Yes the TBLE02 can get VERY hot running brushless motors, but even without the high heat, I found several of them do not run consistently with brushless motors. I would hit WOT but the ESC would not open up all the way, etc.

Ahhhhh.. i tought it would be far cooler in brushless mode because brushless is more efficience? Maybe adding tornado fan would help? I got spare YR tornado high speed fan
I can just tied it with zip tie to the roll bar above the esc..

Maybe it would get hot when you push it sticking 10.5t motor, i guest.. but with 17.5t is better to the esc

I mean it's worth a try, but from my experience even with a torquey 21.5T some of the TBLE's were struggling to keep up with the commands for some reason.

The fan would help, but some are just flaky from the getgo with or without the fan. Brushless is efficient that it does not generate as much heat as brushed motors, but it still pulls current from the ESC so a low capacity ESC like the TBLE ends up getting hot.

On the other hand, the Juststock only gets warm while running in the same configuration on my cars without a fan. The Juststock comes with a fan btw, but I don't always use it.

Finally i choose to buy xerun 17.5t motor paired with my tamiya esc..

I tried run it for about 5min the motor is cool the esc also cool.. *with extra fan just in case
Before change into brushless i'm curious to try super stock tz motor
Just 3times full throttle the motor and esc get warm.. i don't know if i run it for about 5 to 10min maybe it will burn lol 😂😂😂

I've got a Novak 2.5t you should try out. :)

For mchassis is too much.. even using 10.5t is ridiculously fast.. and so much wheel spin.. no fun at all

Looks like fun times ahead, kytr8!! BTW why is there a HOT decal on the side of the ESC? Kinda reminds of ceramic resistors on mechanical speed controllers. :lol:

The ares motor is out of stock.. so i just buy that motor.. a little bit expensive tho.. about $70 (include installation fee).. when the ares motor is $55 include installation
