Have you tried with 20t piniom with sport tuned motor? With the same esc
Will the hot motor cool esc problem solved? I mean all the electronics are evenly warm.. esc+motor My local track has long straight (purposely for 1/10 touring car with asphalt surface) So when i drive my m it always go full throttle and still slow ass hell lol.. need a little more speed i guest.. Wanted to try BL 13,5t or 17,5t.. and im confused with the pinion, bcause the m has limited gear ratio.. Maybe with 13,5t i must use 16t pinion and with 17,5t using 18t pinion? 😁😁😁 Maybe someone can explain to me detailed |

It's not a problem, it's normal. The ESC should be cooler than the motor. And just stick with the 20T pinion for brushless motors, they need to be geared more aggressively than brushed motors. The limited M chassis gearing range was designed for older brushed motors.
Thank you for explaining 😀😀😀 |

Hmmm i see... So what ever the brushless motor (13.5t or 17.5t) just stick to 20t pinion??
Thank you for explaining 😀😀😀 |

Yes, with the short gearing inherent in the minis, you don't need to worry a whole lot about brushless motor heat, it's hard to overheat them. Now, while I have not tried a 13.5 in mine, I have used a 17.5 & currently use a 21.5(along with the Hobbywing XR10 Justock, PERFECT match for this car & spec racing in general), & I have to admit, I like them. I think the 17.5 would be just about right for a good sized track(& for a small to med. one, the 21.5 is excellent). Oh, & I also agree that you NEVER want your ESC to be anywhere the temperature your motor reaches, for ESC's, the cooler the better....
I just doubt about that.. bcause its my first mini chassis the track in my local hobby shop... Not really much tight turn and it is soooooo hugeeeee That's why i need fast motor lol.. I want to post the pict but i just registered to this forum and i'm not allowed to post url until i make a certain number of posts |
Honestly speaking 13.5 is too much power. Unless 4wd mini or you are racing on a BIG track (I guess which you have). :)
|
A Hobbywing 13T Ezrun combo (380 sized motor internals in a 540 sized exterior can) is a pretty good balance of power for these minis, and are pretty cheap.

Im from indonesia by the way.. When ordering from ebay is depressing.. from the price and shipping time.. But there is another brushless by sky rc leopard 13t too.. but the review is bad.. the motor tends to broke down easily I prefer stick to hobbywing brand Good quality and not to pricey like castle, tekin etc. In my country the 3 brands are to expensive.. bcause of tax and bla bla bla.. |
What do you guys think?

Hey guys i found this BL motor at lhs
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/o...psm3lvngnb.jpg Ares 17.5t sensored motor by skyrc Is any of you tried this? My m05 has tble 02s and i want to pair it with that motor.. is it compatible with the tble? Is it good motor? Or buy new combo that have same brand one another (esc+motor)? If the combination is fine Rather than purchasing a sports tuned motor, better I bought this motor |
I haven't tried that combination myself but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Edit: It might be worth asking the hobby shop if they can solder on the appropriate connectors for you if it doesn't come with them. |
