This topic has been covered extensively in the past, the grease works perfectly. If you are that worried about slip the gear diffs are also very good

it looks like they have pin retainers similar to the TOP pin retainers. I seem to be replacing my uni's a lot to keep the slop out, I'm wondering if these might hold up a bit better than the alloy ones most of us use in the rear
I have been using them in the rear end of the Xray for a few months, no dramas at all, the pin retainer is neat. I have not checked for wear, but i would say they are at least as good if not better as anything from Tamiya.

I used to put tamiya thread lock but they break loose easily with a 3000kv motor. Then a fellow driver told me to just build them without any adhesive but just grease between the outdrive and the plates.

Then I found the same tip from Jilles Groskamp somewhere:

"When I build a diff I first sandpaper the plates on both sides, normally around 500-1000 sandpaper.
I use Tamiya Grease hard to put between the outdrive and the plate. Of course make the outdrive and plate clean with motor spray
."

Wouldn't it slip if its not glued?
I used to just build them with grease.

Then I bought a gear diff

I ran my 416 this weekend, 550/silvers front 500/silvers rear, diffs high, one of Jilles setups with some rear block and shock position differences. Felt good, any issues were with inconsistent driving and warming track conditions. What do you guys do for a warming (hot) track to get some consistent traction with the 416 WE?

What traction compound were you using?

In the very morning I used ground effects for simplicity. Then first qualifier I used tire tweak, the after that nothing to cope with tires over heating. Tires were SJR 36's

Try thicker oil and softer springs.
I also like to lay the shocks inn one hole on the tower both front and rear.
The car is less edgy when I do this.

no news of a NEW Tamiya 416 kit coming out? that's odd considering they just won back to back world championships.
