Couple questions on rear track width and ackermann angles...Noticed a lot of setup sheets people are running 1mm shims on the bellcrank and 6mm rear hexes.
For the ackermann will that just make the car react to steering input quicker?
In regards to the 6mm hexes; Is a narrower track width going to make the rear end of the car rotate easier or will it have the opposite effect?

Traction looks to be pretty good there and saw someone traction roll too. I have also compared my jconcepts pin downs to losi ifmar pins and thought that would be an good alternative and might not require sauceing. Try cleaning the slicks with brake cleaner before sauceing. That was the hot setup at a local track here that ran ozite a little while back. Maybe try the jconcepts swaggers in the front if allowed.

Going to be building my first car (come from drone racing) and decided on picing up the B6 (same as a friend). He swears up and down it only runs shorty batteries but on Amazon, Hobby Town, AMain, etc., the specs pages say they can run shorty, saddle, and square. He says they will fit the B6D but not the B6. My understanding is the B6D frame is essentially the same with a different powertrain config and front/rear, doesn't make sense to me.
I checked the manual and it lists "LiPo 50C 5200mAh 7.4V SQ" as being compatible and dimension-wise the square pack and saddle packs look almost identical if you double up one.

Wow, so he was right about that. That's a bit disappointing because that means all resellers have bad specs listed including the B6 manual =/
Am I the only person to notice this/bring this up?
Also there are separate manuals for both the B6 and B6D and specifically the B6 says it can run that Reedy 5200 square pack.

Just run shorty batteries and you'll never have to worry about anything.

I get that but if it's being incorrectly advertised as supporting something that it can't run that's an issue in itself.

Technically "both cars" (because it's the same car in different configurations) can run a square battery. You'll just need to run the stand up transmissions in order to do so.

I kind of figured that since they were the same. It's not a huge deal but the marketing/manuals definitely need to be updated to reflect that.

You can move a shorty further aft, but I don't think it gives enough room for a full square pack. I could be wrong. But seriously, just run shorty batteries. Who uses square packs?

If anyone cares, I just got the official response from Team Associated:
"The B6 and B6d uses the shorty pack as the primary. If you want to use either Saddle or Square packs, then you will need to remove/not use the battery strap #91731 and keep the batteries in by using a good brand of 2-side tape. Like 3M!"
