do you mean the open ended ball cups. If so my friend runs them i think he has the ones from jconcepts. I personally am using the stock ones and not having an issue with them, however its a pain to snap them off, and it does make it looser each time, so at some point i will be switching to them, he has nothing but good things to say about it. However he is a good racer and doesnt have lots of big wrecks, so if you have many big wrecks and are breaking or snapping off rod ends then maybe the rpm ones are the way to go. All on personal prefferences

I a decent driver and dont have alot of wrecks, i think ive poped a ball cup once but it was in a main and cost me the race so ide rather just not have to worry about it. Also it seems cheaper then picking up the new serpent buggy lol

Im not seeing them on there site, when i say captured i mean like what 1.8th scale buggys use.

It is a prototype LMR wing. Only mr LMR himself lee martin and zack genova were running them at the worlds. Hopefully zack brings me one home :-)

Hm well i personally think thats one of the little hings that should be changed ae should design new ones that have open ends. He personally hasnt had a problem with the open ended ones, he wrecks occasionally, if your a decent driver id try them, if you have some extra cash to spend lol

Hey guys,
I have been looking around on here for a while now. You all seem extremely smart and knowledgeable! I am new to racing, not new to rc though. I grew up reading and drooling over 2wd buggy racing in rc car action and over the internet, always dreamed of doing this. Always been a AE fan as well. I have mostly been involved in nitro bashing and playing around, never having the time to dive into racing. As of this summer I have bought 2 new b4.2 kits. 1 that I have built and will be racing, the other is for a parts. I am learning the electric side of the hobby and picking up fast. I live in Ohio and plan on racing at the rc factory & sparks park. I do not have time to be going to practice in the week and for now only plan on racing every other Sunday. My question is for some knowledgeable guidance on what I should be focusing on at this point? Other then my driving what is most important for me to focus on? Shock set up is very confusing for me right now lol. Any guidance would be much appreciated! I am running a Tekin rspro, tekin 8.5 w/24-78 gearing, Futaba S9452 servo, Futaba 3pmx radio, SMC 40C 5000MAH batteries. I do have the hot wire as well. 30w front & rear on shock oil. Everything else is box stock other then the shaved u-brace. I also have a full set of gold barcodes. Any help with how to set the esc up, as far as boost and timing? Have not messed with any of that. Thanks in advance for any help!

Theres so many possibilites to this questions. I would say ask your local racers, see what they are doing first or check out a site that has a set up that has similar track conditions as you do. (i started out with stock and tuned it from there using ae book, and a few reputable sites)

Agree that your question is a bit too big to answer completely, but here goes:

1. Solve the tire/insert puzzle for each of your local tracks in their various states (new track, blue groove, wet, dry, etc.) -- local knowledge is key there.

2. Car setup wise, there are a couple of approaches -- work from box stock making one change at a time as you see deficits in the car's handling. Or you can start from a pro setup and tweak from there. I tend to think the second option is better, especially if you can get some local tips on which base setup is more ideal for your track. The hard part is not changing 'everything' when you have to wait a week or more to get to the track.

3. Don't worry about adding boost or making the car any faster until you are driving very consistently and within shooting distance of the local fast guys. Depending on your talent that could be very quickly or take a long time (like me!). If you find you can't get consistent running a 7.5t, consider racing 17.5 or 13.5 until that consistency comes, or at least turning down EPA or getting a hold of a cheap 10.5 until you get comfortable with the power.

4. As you have questions, ask! Both locally and on the forums. There are some very experienced racers on this forum that can point you in the right direction, especially on the subject of which ball cups to run! ;)

Well it looks like people will be sticking around. Had the results been different this forum would have become a ghost town and everyone headed over to the Centro forum.

We can all now get back on track to talking about the awesome B4.2.

Thanks guys.

that hole serves a purpose, it allows you to use a hex wrench to move/remove the ball stud without popping the cup off.

thx, since you seem to know them, do you know when/if they will be available and maybe how they change the car's feeling?

Yes... i realize that now that i have looked at them and see what they are doing i think its kind of a nice combination of the ball cup closed and open ended ones

From the looks, it is just an addition of the middle section to the already existing LMR wing. Lee martin finished second, and to me looked to be one of the best cars in the air. No idea what it is changing aero wise, but it looks super dialed.

Well guys ill try to make a mini one and use it on my wing. Not entirely sure how to but id say that 2 side dams approximately 2 inches (just inside the shock tower location) I think the mini wing is easier to mount than glueing side dams/ making a new mold with them in it
