So, why do you guys prefer the black cover over the clear? I personally like the clear so I can see what is happening, incase it sounds like a stripped gear.

I like the blacked out look myself. If you stripped a gear, more than likely you'll remove the gear cover anyway.

Exactly, with black in my paint scheme I think it goes better, no difference than what you think looks better

The clear one is made of very brittle plastic. Prefer the black look and not having to worry about it cracking

What are your thoughts of running 4wd front tires on this 2wd buggy?
What's the impact, if any?

Never felt the need too. Would it fit in a box? I think it would make the car pushy.

The black gear cover is softer and will make the car run quieter...a friend recently told me this and it works!

I averaged a three second lap improvement by running the black cover with pledge rubbed on. Lemon Pledge only...the orange pledge took 2 seconds off a lap. Further testing to come.
