Ya a flat piston has the same compression/rebound, while a tapered piston will travel quicker whichever direction the taper is. The way I think of it, which I may be wrong, with the taper facing down, the shock will pack faster and rebound slower. So on a med/high bite track, shocks compress and the car will remain in that stance for a little longer which will give you more traction.
Right?

AE's tapered pistons have larger holes than the stock pistons. I had to go up 1/2wt all the way around with the tapered 1.6 pistons. I have them set to rebound faster (taper down), but I lost pack when switching.

I think that was to be expected because the holes are slightly bigger because they are machined.

What good is a 1.6 piston, where nothing is 1.6? I didn't expect the holes to be bigger, I expected the entire piston to be rounder and fit more precisely in the bore. This would've increased dampening, like the old red pistons I ran in my V2 shocks.

I'm Hunter, goofy looking guy that sits in the front by sean and Jim.

0 rebound. After the initial bleeding you need to pump the shocks to build up a little pressure, then bleed them again. After that they should have 0 rebound for awhile. Come find me if you have any issues. I'll be on the carpet side this weekend since I'm running sedan as well.

Thanks to everyone for the tips on the bodies, I decided to go with the finnisher from jconcepts. Ironically the current body I am using appears to be a bulldog one. Should be able to get some good comparison.
