Yea its working now, wasn't earlier. Either was there phone but haven't tried it again. Can someone tell me if the aluminum shock caps don't come with bleeder screws or do u use the ones off the plastic stock ones? I didn't open the kit yet just got home and it was waiting at the door but I looked through the option parts I ordered.

Congrats..you won't be disappointed with this kit..I also have the aluminum shock caps & they don't use bleeder screws. You gotta use plastic if you want an emulsion shock setup.

I love talking setup and you can learn a lot from everyone's input even if we are not spot on with the info.
I have an analogy that will help with roll center.
Just as you car has a balance point, front to back and side to side it also has a CG top to bottom. This balance point is what effects roll CG, or roll center. The roll center will be under the chassis CG, no need to learn how to find it as of now. When you raid the roll center you are making it closer to the chassis CG and lowering further away. Shock tower is opposite, lower holes raise roll center and upper lower it, also remember short is low long is high on link lengths.
Now the effects. Using a breaker bar to loosen a lug nut. Put the socket on the nut with the breaker bar straight up. Gripping the bar say 6" above the socket is a high roll center and gripping it 16" up would be a low roll center and the chassis's CG is your grip, roll center i the socket, and has the same effect to chassis roll.
The link position also effects camber gain, lower = more gain and can help with traction rolling as well. Ok thumbs are sore lol.

Thumbs up on the great post . What your saying make sense . The analogy helped me too . But are there times when you don't want roll center as close to cg as possible

The AL caps have vent holes and no bleeder screws. If you want to use bleeder screws for running emulsion, you'll need to run the composite caps included with the kit.

Absolutely, that will help gain traction through the turn and coming out. If you get to much roll it could cause a hook, one spring rate stiffer will help if this happens.

Would I need my roll center closer to cg if I was having problems rolling over in sharp corners ( hypothetically speaking )

I know I'm really excited, I will be wrenching all wknd. Moved to Texas from Pa about a yr ago and now I gotta two hr drive to race but its at Mikes in Dallas so it helps but still sucks. New to the whole sct thing so I could really use some help guys. It's taking forever to read this whole thread. I will be racing indoors on small low traction track. Goin with the RX8 Gen 2 and tekin hd motor was gonna go with the 3500kv can anyone help me out with is that a good motor for a small track and what Pinion and spurs should I pick up. Also never ran a geared diff so know nothing about them what oil should I get small loose track and what springs and after market pistons, the fionnah don't know but that's close read somewhere that those pistons are working well for guys but what size?

There are several things you can try but as far as roll center, yes, lower link on the tower or shorten them. Do you know why it rolling? Are you catching an edge, chassis rolling to far, or just to much traction? Is it rolling over from the back or could the front be diving in? Ride height can cause this too. I typically start with box setup an tune from there. I've never found a pro setup that would work for me, my reaction time is to slow I guess.

And of course the Hudy setup guide.

My local hobby shop didn't have the Tenko 8 x 1.3's but they did have the AE 8 x 1.3's. I've seen quite a few people using 35 f and 30 r. Is that Losi oil, or AE?

I'm guessing my roll over problems were coming from most probably traction bite in a very high traction blue groove track . I was just curious to if that was a common roll center issue

Try lowering links on tower and start with around 3deg camber. Tires most important, run the same compound and foam as the fast guys.

Just an update from the 1/8 Electric Nationals here in Pennsylvania after 2 rounds...

Austin Blair is currently sitting 2nd in the A Main in 4WD SCT.

I'm sitting 8th overall in the A Main.

2 more qualifiers tomorrow.
