The red/white rtr losi body truck is a tekno. The black w/ yellow wheels truck is also a tekno.

Your truck looked really good and nice clean driving. What changes did you make to your setup?

Thanks for the explanation. I just figured I could limit the droop and or lower the ride height to keep from traction rolling?

Do I need to go ahead and add a couple to each shock ?

Limiting droop helps, but if you have a big jump on your track or some flat landing jumps the extra droop helps with the landings.
Try the truck without them first then add 4 to each to get a feel for what it does on the track.

that looks like you have to put shims between your wheel and the hex.

Or, aren't the aluminum hexes thicker, I think they are. Just put some Tekno aluminum hexes for the Slash 4x4 and it should be the correct width. If I'm wrong someone on here will know for sure.

they are thicker. just seems like the shims are a quicker/cheaper solution. he may still need shims even with the Tekno SC10 4x4 hexes but at least they come with several spare shims.

I realize that most of you who have assembled this kit already know what I'm about to post, but I'm so happy with this kit I just have to share my opinion with someone.

This truck is amazing! I've finished the diffs and the front and rear suspension so most of the difficult part is done and I still haven't found anything I think could have been done better. Everything is tight with little or no slop and yet it all operates very smoothly. I bought reamers for the arms and didn't use them. The pins are just ever so slightly snug and I think after a few battery packs they'll break in and leave an almost perfect fit. I think they'll fit better than if I reamed the arms.

I've assembled dozens of kits and even built my own cars over the 30 years I've been involved with RC and I think this is the best kit I've ever got my hands on.

Tekno certainly has earned my respect. When you consider how difficult it is to bring a new product to the RC market and make it a success, it is absolutely astounding that techno has been able to do it with the EB48 and to follow it up with this truck. I think it just proves that price is not the only consideration. Quality and performance are still a major factor to a huge number of consumers.

Congradulations Tekno!! Your products are truely outstanding.

It is TEKNO not TECHNO...

Sorry, corrected.

Anybody have any idea when amain is going to have the arms in stock? Preferably the front ones (5536)? I going to a race @ mikes hobbyshop (dallas) next week and i need parts real soon. Should i just place my order from amain right now and get the arms directly from tekno, or should i wait and get everything from amain?

btw, for those of you that have run at mike's, what tires work best for 4wd sc? I heard somebody recommended aka gridirons in supersoft compound.

meyankee 02-21-2013 03:50 PM

I did not want to wait for A-Main to get them in so I ordered from Tekno.

I've been impressed with how quick Tekno is with their shipping. I wouldn't wait, order from Tekno.

That was a fun race for me (red/white truck). Brutal start but had a good run overall. Got 3rd in my third race this winter, so I was pleased. My truck is feeling great...went up to AE 40wt front and 35wt rear and helped me drive more consistently. I just can't get over how easy it is to put the truck exactly where I want it to go. Still need more wheel time, but it's making a fred like me not look horrible.

Also, 1st time driving with a Hobbywing SCT Pro esc. Much smoother and powerful than my Castle MMP which started having brownout issues this week. Thanks to Matt Cain (2nd place) for hooking me up late Tuesday night, so I could race last night!

That was a nice run Craig! Looking forward to racing again.

Brutal is a good word for the way it went but those trucks are hauling the mail.

They do look fast on video.

Looks like a fun little technical track. I believe I would run only five trucks at a time on a course that small.

Sometimes we get treated like the step=kid class, no love. We had 10 and they say we need 11 to split. It's much better after a resort.

thanks, I've made a few, I need to make a set-up sheet. I'll give that a go tonite. It's mainly based the pres Ilog setup.

Thanks, It looked better after a few minutes in. I ran mod 2wd buggy that night and it always effects my 4x4 skills. The truck is getting better and I'm loving it. Kind of combo barry/ilog set-up.

That run w/ warmup used 2700mah. That's w/ the HW 4k motor, temps at motor were 118 or so.

I'd like to see your setup sheet as well. You could drive a 3 wheel grocery cart to the win, but I'd still like to try what you've found to work at our track.

Also, thanks for your tips on the fast lines around the track...it's always appreciated.

I went ahead and bought that Hobbywing ESC from Matt. I was looking at the Hobbywing programming card/box. Looks like the LCD Professional Program Box is worth the extra money, right?
