Is there is big difference in runtime between the pro4hd and pro4?

Hello again, I finished my build last night and this thing is awsome! Just got to run it for a few minutes in front of the house but in comparison to my sc10 4x4 I can really see huge potential. I do have a ? The kit came with 3k 5k and 7k for the diffs and I put them 5/7/3 front to rear is that correct? Thanx and way to go Tekno

Stock setup is 7 front, 5 center, 3 rear. 5/7/3 is normal for a lot of vehicles but those don't turn like this truck does. If you already built it give it a whirl for sure. I'm running 7/7/3 myself, 7/7/5 seems common, with others running higher center weights.

Have u guys seen the new EB48.2, comes with a lot of the aluminum upgrades and the kept it at the same price as the old one. Can be pre ordered @ A Main. Wish the truck would of came with the same parts and just would of cost more. Its on there website, gonna have to grab one of those for sure.

12 pinion is way too small for this truck. People who drove Losi/AE typically have to go 2 pinion sizes larger to get the same results. For example, my Losi used a 14T @ 4600 and now use a 16T with the SCT410.

I would say its track dependent. from what I recally on a very small track, 12T is an option. It is what I recall running with a 4600 Pro4 motor on the 50 x 50 Indoor track and it felt great.

The Tekno SCT410 is awesome from range of gearing perspective which was a problem with my SC10 4x4.

I wouldn't be hesitant at all. I'm even tempted to get a second just to experiment with a super light version.

I think the .2 reflected some changes that needed to be made to that car like the new diffs, included with the SCT410. "What do I need to buy?" has been asked many times in this forum and the only answers you'll see are aluminum hexes and an aluminum steering horn. Anything else is just a setup piece to personalize the feel or something that you'd need if you were hitting posts at full speed.

Of course it wouldn't be fun if you couldn't bling the truck out with some aluminum and carbon pieces.

Not that I'd be the first to know but I haven't heard anything about a new truck.

I think if it goes anyway like the EB48.2 with a lot of lightweight parts, you may find that they aren't something you flat out need.

Gonna see about going 7-7-2 or even 10-10-2 . Still odd ball here, 2K in the rear works excellent out here on the dusty extra loose stuff. I think though with me running all 4 orings on the shock shafts helps prevent the lift that causes diff whip?

I've been driving a SCTE 2.0 for a couple of months now and am very surprised on how sloppy it has become. The front end is so loose that setting the alignment is a waste of time. Same thing with the camber in the rear. I am also finding screws that are backing themselves out and others won't tighten without striping. Does the SCT410 have the similar issues? Also, does a viper VTX8 esc fit in it?

No slop for me let alone any leaks in diffs and bearings still feel good been running my truck for months.

i also owned a scte2.0, it was a great truck out of the box with minimal issues, it did develop a lot of slip though and yea setting toe/camber became frustrating, I sold the truck awhile back and I have a sct410 waiting on my bench to be built, I've heard nothing bad about the tekno with little to no slop if any, I've heard if people using the vtx8 in it as well

From what I am understanding, it is a more common reported issue on the SCTE's, the slop, etc.

On the SCT410, slop issues don't appear to be something commonly reported. Me personally I haven't had slop issues to be honest.

The VTX8 will fit, there are several running it here and have had posted pictures recently of there setups. The big thing is placement of the power switch.

For myself, I will have some VTX8's on the way to try out.

After Gil Losi jr left they should have changed the name to team loosi. Thanks horizon. Thankfully we have tekno here making some of the best trucks around :)

Thanx for the info on the diff fluids, gonna run it and see how it feels. Another ? I have is how to measure droop? Is it from top screw to bottom screw on the shocks themselves? With the screws backed all the way out that would be full droop correct? Thanx again all

I have one of the 1st run kits and have been running it since January and it's just as slop-free as it was when I built it. I did switch it over to Boca Yellow Seal ceramics and I'm using all of the lightened outdrive components but its still the original o-rings and seals in the entire truck, no leaks. Only part I've worn out is the front skid/bumper.

I remember a buddy spending like $200 to rebuild his 1.0 at one point.

that's what most people do but it's only flaw is different shock locations means my 102mm front shock measurement may actually give less droop on someone else's truck depending on where the shock is mounted.

Backing that screw out would be full-droop. All the way in would be lowrider.

So looking at boca bearings site what's the real difference in ordinary people terms between the $25, $129, and $324 bearings.. Will the most expensive ones allow you to literally fly lol just doesn't seem logical to have two sct410s one that u drive and the other is an upgrade lol

300$ for bearings is ridiculous to me haha, the 100$ ones is reasonable, no way I'd spend as much on bearings for the same price my kit cost

ArmySSG 08-18-2013 04:41 PM

That's why I raise the question.. What's so special, I can see the $50 replacement kit just in case but $100-$300 just don't get what advantage you'd have.. Will it turn your 4300HD into a 2300 on 4s lol
