I hated to do it but as a recommendation from another user in this thread I put the losi Green 3.1 / 3.1 15 mm spring on and WOW huge difference, more rear bite outdoor, and the truck jumps soooo nice

Also a little chapstick on the threads make it adjust easier.

It's a good possibility I can make it there before the months over, so I will def. pm you to give you a heads up. And thanks for the tip on the chapstick.

May be able to get out next weekend but I think I'm going to palm desert and will run the outdoor track while I'm out there to visit the in-laws.
Trying to get out to Westcoast for round 2 of the SX series on Saturday, its a really fun layout for the series.

Ilan, I think you were running a 4x buggy weren't you? There's usually enough to get a class together so bring it out :tire:

I've run a mmp in my scte and sct410. It's a great esc with tons of adjustabilty, just make sure you get an external bec. Now that some of you have mentioned it, i'm wondering if the lack of power with my hobbywing 4000Kv is due to the esc. Ever since the day i got it, it has always felt pretty plain and gutless on power. It really shows how weak the motor is when i get on our local 8th scale track. I've tried gearing it differently (15, 16, 19t pinions), and it just seems to lack a lot of power. I don't know if it's due to the mmp or if it's my season-old nanotec packs. I'm at a loss and pretty much ready to sell the motor. (yes this post may have very-well killed my chances of selling it) My punch control is all the way down (most punch) and i'm running "smartsense" (switches to sensorless once you get going). Long story short i'm stuck with 3 choices and I only have enough cash for one.
Here they are:
1. Sell 4000Kv and get the 4700Kv
2. Sell mmp and get a hobbywing sct-pro
3. Buy a couple smc race formula packs
Which would you choose?

P.s. I'll be running my backup tenshock 4600Kv motor this weekend to see if i can eliminate one of the variables.

most definitely start with number 3. when i went to an SMC 6500/70C from my 6000/65C season old nano's, the difference was staggering. just buy one battery to start with, then when you see if their is any difference, you can buy more. if you're still not impressed after getting new packs, then i'd look into the esc.

as for #3, i'd ask a buddy at the track if you can try a fresh battery of theirs.

The last time I was there at WC I had my b4.1 and sc104x4, the 4wd buggy was my friends rc8e........... I had an rc8.2e for a little while but quickly sold it because the local outdoor track in my area shut down, and the indoor one I run at rarely has an 1/8th class..........

Got halfway through the build, gonna try and get as much as I can done tonight. I'm still waiting on my electronics (motor/esc) which prob. won't come in until next week.......

with the axles in the TKR5570-17 set, can we use an existing hex to get the SCT width?

The axles included in 5570-17 are a different size and would not work with a hex from the SCT410 or a hex from the EB48. They are unique to the 5570-17 kit only.

3rd party parts perhaps? Or will tekno make what i want? :p

Cryo, which Losi springs exactly? Eight buggy, fronts and rears? Part numbers? Would appreciate any extra info. Thanks man!

Yeah boy....i also just got done installing electronics and finishing all the loose ends. I also put the Tekno next to my Sc104wd....the belts shook with envy lol. Gonna head to the track an put her through the ringer....unless my stub shafts break...fml.

Love this Tekno :sneaky:

TazzxxZooksd 03-29-2013 09:45 AM

Ive raced this truck four xs and have broken 3 stub axles! Yes tekno replaces them but wtf? Why have they not come up w a better axle when its the trucks only flaw and axles is what tekno does best for every racing rc on the track!?!?
