Been out of it for awhile. Last scte I had was the losi back when they had the pin problems. I used a mmp with a castle 3800 kv 4 pole.
Is this still a good setup ?
I still have this combo laying around.
I was about to buy another losi but I will wait.
I got involved with quarter scale cars and have been racing QSAC races, but there is a 3 month wait now until next season.

Shawn! Nice to see your back. Still got your 1/8th scale stuff?

Thats a decent set-up and should hold its own.

watching these 4x4 scts at our local track SDRC, it is one of the best trucks out there hands down! lands plush and very nimble, truck turns on a dime and by far one of the most durable trucks out there to date. great job danny and the whole tekno crew for putting a great product out for the masses

D

Zac !!! It's been awhile. No 1/8 scale stuff. I want to get that new car too.
I gotta see where you guys are racing these days and get some driving lessons. Lol

guess they can use composite gears on the bulkhead diffs too
to gain weight..

No way. I think he chassis is also the same as the buggy. Hoping for a badass kit as well.

No clue about that...
anyway, as low weight is key to get a fast SC especilly for high traction track (i.e. astro) i'm curious to see how Tekno will use EB48 parts or dedicated 1/10 size parts for that new car.
If the car is nice and light, I switch from my SCTE/BCE.

subscribed.

Regarding weight, from page 3: http://www.rctech.net/forum/11423317-post43.html

Danny, you must have the whole SDRC crew in cahoots to be able to keep these vehicles on the down low for ANY length of time!!!
I need to move back to California!!!!!

Cain 11-12-2012 07:42 AM

Will be curious to see what they change if they do a $400 max price.

I agree though that maybe getting the full option one out first would be better. This is obviously a racers kit, not some RTR.

james633 11-12-2012 08:12 AM

Yeah a full blown race kit now at what ever it costs and maybe a cheaper version latter would be my preference. 4x4 is a tough one though as a lot of the racers are a lot more budget minded.

superslow 11-12-2012 08:12 AM

Well i just sold my scte so where do i preorder? And lets see some photos please i dont even know what im buying yet! Lol:lol:

Cain 11-12-2012 08:15 AM

funny thing is the budget racers will buy the Kit cheap, then buy all the upgrades and end up spending more in the long run, and usually not too long after LOL.

For me personally, if its a durability upgrade,I rather have that out of the box than paying later for it. If its bling or mainly a lightening thing beyond a reasonable SCT weight, I am okay with buying that later.

Very true, I think we have all seen a $1000 slash or two:confused: and it is still a slash.
