I was thinking about ordering this truck, think I'll wait till the next batch.

It's a bad batch, it happens.

I used to be a (major name) tool dealer, they would make a batch of 10 mm sockets that got heat treated wrong (too hard), and I would go from changing out 3-4 a week to like 20 a DAY when it happened. About every 18 months it would happen, I'd change sockets like mad in one size till we worked our way through the inventory cause it's not like you can look at them and say "that one's no good" unless somebody tried it.

If they are taking care of it, I'd order one extra and just break away.

when you consider how much abuse these little trucks take and how little help you get from some other companies i don't see the need for all the complaining. tekno jumps right on any issue and handles them professionally, what more do you want?

What aluminum hexes are being used? The Tekno ones are never in stock and I am tired of my stock plastic ones falling off every time I take a wheel off. Those pins are hard to find on concrete!!! lol

have you tried drilling a hole in the stock plastic hexes and then adding a set screw. You can then keep your hexes on the axles.

Ok, after seeing this post http://www.rctech.net/forum/11988022-post2716.html, i'm pretty sure it's not the motor that's low on grunt. Rcphreak, i'll try what you suggested and get 1 smc race forumula pack, if that fixes the problem, i'll order more. I can't be the one guy that got a gutless motor, it has to be something else. About 80% sure it's my season old nano's.

Bad batch it happens. Its how its taken care of, and Tekno took care of it first class. Replacing broke ones asap, and its hard to pin point what ones are "bad".

I have clipped pipes, cartwheeled, barrelrolled, u name it. No issue, never broke a thing.

Strongest truck out there period. IMO

Resqnu 03-29-2013 07:36 PM

I have no complaints with this truck even though I broke an axle on my first outing. Was just advising the issue. I've had a lot of experience with other brands and broken more expensive parts. One brands stock chassis would bend very easy. I wouldn't trade this truck for any of the others. I recommend it. 6 guys at my track have switched from a popular brand to the Tekno and I'm the only one who has broken anything. If you are on the fence, this truck drives great, like a 1/8 buggy and I have no doubtTekno will fix this issue soon if not already. Awesome product.

No Cain I have not tried that (or thought of it  ) I will give that a shot until the Aluminum ones come in. I found a set at Tower Hobbies that are 6mm and should work with possible a bit of grinding.

exactly. losi fixed the SCTE leaky diff issue more than a year after it's release and when they did, they were "HD" diff cases that you had to pay for.

yeah, my nano's were great when they were new, but they didn't last very long. i didn't realize how low on punch they were until i got an SMC battery. it was equivalent to like a 1.5-2 tooth pinion difference. after i got a couple more SMC's, i relegated my nano's to 2wd use. even that didn't last long. i just sand pitted one because it was cutting out.

Get a Tekno V4 conversion for that VE8 and you will have close too an EB48 for a fraction of the cost .

I had a converted D8 and it railed ! Didn't quite turn as quick as the EB48 and was much heavier but was still very fast .....

Can't comment on the MMP in the tekno specifically, but, in the SC10 4x4 from what I have read and what I saw briefly before taking it out of my previous sc10 4x4 was that its stock BEC was not up to the task with high power servos and high power motors on 2S.

Loved the ESC in my 1/8 vehicles on 4S, but got cogging, etc. instantly when I put it in my SC10 4x4.

I have read those who do use it, you pretty much need the external BEC. it works then though it won' deliver power like the RX8.

For me, the Speed Passion GT2.0 ESC has been working excellent for 2 pole 550 and 4 Pole 540 motors I have tried. Love its size as well in my Tekno.

Cain is dead on, i had the MMP in my truck with a savox servo, Browned out something fierce, i sold all my stuff and went to an rx8...speaking of which, i have heard of about 8 or 9 rx8's going bad in the past 2 weeks, just a phase, or is something up with tekins ESC's?
