IMO, its easier to run the gear diff, but that's just me. I think it offers more tuning options for tracks. I built my 16 XB4 with the Gear Diff back in December and have been super happy with it.

Yeah pretty much similar to a 8th scale in a sense?

I have the same problem on my 2017. Earlier models had a problem where the RR suspension blocks were machined incorrectly, I believe this is still a problem. When I measured rear toe independently the left side needed correction. I offset the rear most pills, which corrected the toe problem but the left dogbone is still sitting further out in the outdrive as compared to the right side. It's better, but still not equal.

It should be quite easy to measure the rear toe block to see if its been machined improperly...

Default weird gearbox action (have a vid if anyone needs to see it.

At droop when I spin the spur gear, the right hand side spindle goes to full lock and the diff locks up the right side, only at resting ride height does it not do this. Have a video if anyone with any knowledge wants to see the issue. What could be wrong? I have redone the diff and case 3 times, and its the same over and over again.

Sounds like driveshaft drops to diff outdrive slot.

This happens when you have some sort of binding in the CVD joint. First make sure they are assembled correctly, I have seen people putting the cross pin through the concentrical hole in the barrel, this will give this result. If that is not the problem check for general binding, clean and re-grease.
Also check that the barrel is running freely and any wear in the shaft "eyelet" hasn't created a burr. A gentle sweep with a needle file should do the trick.

so I just finished putting my 2017 together and noticed that the left side outdrive does not stick out as far as the right side out drive. I could see the drive shaft popping out on the left side in a hard hit or landing. the difference in the outdrives is pretty obvious and limiting down travel seems like a band aid. the same issue is on the front diff. seems like two different outdrives need to be made for the diffs for each side since their is no shimming. I guess I could just shim the inside of the left cvd shaft to even things out but just does not seem right

I drove my 16 xb4 for the first time on carpet yesterday and I'm just looking at making some setup changes. For the most part it was good but most setups I saw on petite (mostly Bruno setups) were 550 & 750 cst shock oil (I didn't have that heavy of oil so I was a little lighter) but I am ordering 42.5 and 55w AE oils now. Which is like 538 and 725 cst. The other thing was the roll bars. I had stock 1.2 and 1.3. Most of the setups were either 1.6/1.8 or 1.8/1.8. I am running mini darts and the car was rotating ok but maybe a little too much. Maybe too much steering so I may turn it down. But what would you all recommend for roll bars? Is 1.6/1.8 too heavy? Or does it work good? I was thinking maybe 1.4 front and 1.6 rear to try first. It is high traction but just wondering if thicker bars will make it easier to drive or harder. I am nkt very experienced at driving yet
If I

On carpet we would very rarely go lower than 1.6 in the front. Rear is either 1.6 or 1.8.
Of course it depends a lot on your track layout and overall grip level.....But this advice is pretty generic we have seen....

Did you have the Center Spur on correctly, there are two side to the Spur gear one has a deeper cut out then the other, that might be part of the issue.

As for chatter I've have not noticed any with my 16 XB4 and have been running the Center Diff since December. There's nothing to shim for the center diff while in the mount. The bearing should line right up with the diff mount.

the chattering did go away the spur sits really close to the edge of the center brace is this normal id say 1mm clearance
