I need help with ride height. If I have the shock collar loosened all the way and I'm still not low enough for the ride height how can get the car lower? Trying to get to 14mm rear and 16mm front. Aren't there shorter springs for carpet setups? Looks like 368275 and 368175? they are specified as progressive where the standard ones are linear. Which are most of you running? The shorts or the standard ones for carpet?
Also wondering why people cut off the inner and outer row of pins on their rear tires. I'm trying to decide if I want to try that or not with my mini dart tires.
The last thing I want to ask is, I am running mini darts. I was looking thru the setups on petite and most of the carpet setups are running the RR arm pills up and out (1deg pills) and the FR pills up and in (which makes it 1 deg toe). Will that be ok to use with mini darts? Just wondering cause i was told the darts give a little less traction than the mini pins so they rotate more in corners. So I wasn't sure if I should maybe run a little more toe with those tires.

I remember Bent saying they cut 1 coil off the stock springs to get the low rideheights.

I believe cutting the outer rows of pins is to lose some side bite to help prevent traction rolling.

Thanks. What about roll bars on a fairly tight track? Most carpet setups have 1.6/1.8 or 1.8/1.8. And those are all for mod. Would I want to run something like that on a small/med track running 13.5 or would the 1.2/1.3 stock bars be better?

I choose roll bar selection based on the available traction. Thinner roll bars will increase the cars ability to roll and thicker roll bars will decrease it.
thinner = lower traction surface
thicker= higher traction surface

I usually try to start with an exact setup, when going off another drivers setup sheet. But I also don't like buying new parts if I'm not sure I will be using them. So if you have everything else the same I would be ok starting with the stock sway bars especially like you said you are running a higher turn motor, in theory you wont be coming into the corners as hard so should be ok with a softer setup.

That is kind of what I was thinking but wasn't sure. Maybe I'll give the stock bars a shot first and see how they work

The other thing with that low of ride height, keep an eye out on the dogbones and outdrives to match sure they don't bind.

With the right springs and position of the shocks you should be good.

"Most who have gone to the 12mm hexes are using the +0.75mm (#365355) on the front and +1.5mm (#365356) on the rear using standard 12mm rear wheels and TLR 22-4 front wheels which have the same offset as the Xray 12mm front wheels (#369912). Car becomes very stable with this combination".

you can use your TLR 22- 4 wheels but have to get the .75mm (part #365355) for front and +1.5mm hexes (part#365356) for rear.

TLR 22-4 rims are a direct fit... and you'll want them because, frankly, the box rims are basically made out of paper. Flimsy, fragile, garbage.

I just purchased 7mm Exotek hexes so I can use my AE wheels in the rear.

A couple questions on the slipper adjustment shown in the manual. The 0-.5mm adjustment shown on page 27 is a little weird where the dimension lines are shown. Should that measurement be take from the end of outdrive to the end of the black collar? The manual looks like they are measuring from the end of the outdrive to the setscrew.
Other question is what are people running for that distance? Most setups say .5 but that seems kind of lose. I read to set a slipper u hold both tires on the table and blip the throttle and the front of the car should come up about 3 inches. Is that how you guys do it or do you just set the distance measurement and that's it?
I also have a center diff. Is the slipper the best option for carpet or center diff? If I did run the center diff on carpet what weight fluid would you all use?

For center diff use on carpet I believe you want 500k or 1mil from what I've seen for the XB4 carpet setups

For carpet, the slipper is your best option. If you have to use the center diff I would say 1million at the minimum.
