Jconcepts or proline open cell foams work good for this, the schumacher ones are a bit narrow to cut in half.
The tires mount a specific way. If you look at the tread there are 2 row separated by a mold line and 3 more
rows of tread. You want the 2 rows facing out. If you run the 3 rows out they have to much steering.

Schumacher tires always fit best on there rims due to the width of the glue
bead but you can usually get them on other rims. Make sure not to glue the
flex section of the sidewall down.
Thanks man... while I was just looking for the wheels I found the 4wd front in a premount. They weren't showing up when I was just searching the tires. But anyways. Is the stagger a good choice for the 4wd front? Or would be better off with the mini pin2 fronts to match the mini pin2 rears? I always run the stagger front on my 2wd but didn't know if that is what most ppl do in 4wd too

Stick with the Wide stagger, mini pin on the front are very aggressive.
Rear is going to be track specific. Mini darts are a good safe choice that works almost anywhere.

does compound matter on carpet tires like it does on clay tires? Like if I get the blue hard compound will I get less traction than if I were to use the yellow med compound? I used yellow before which worked good but they didn't last very long.

I've been looking at the setups for carpet on petite RC site and I don't know which to start with. There are several and they are each very different. CAN someone link me to a good setup that I can use to start with? I don't know specifics but it's a black carpet. Last year it was green stuff and they just switched it to black before the onroad season started.

So....I was having issues with keeping a motor fan in place on my '17 XB4. These are the Exotek servo mounts from the '15 XB4 I have. I cut the little nub off and used the existing screw for the sideguard on the '17 to mount it. Just thought I would put it out there to save you guys a few bucks.

My 2015 Xb4 started chewing up the front steel bevel gear last week. Then the steel diff gear broke off. Anyone had the same problem?

Make sure the srews that go up from the bottom of the chassis into the diff cover are there. I bought a used 2016 and blew out a set of front and rear diff gears (they were composite though). It was missing those screws, after installing those screws I have not had an issue, my son has a 2016 with the same gears and run time, that one has had zero issues.

Does anyone else have issues with X-ray shocks leaking oil from the bottom end? It happens on xb2 and xb4. I've changed the o-rings I've tried different greases on the orings when building them and every time I inspect them there is always a little oil on the shock eyelets and Im getting pretty annoyed with it.

I believe Bent mentioned this before...Soak orings in shock oil for about 30 minutes before building. DON'T USE GREASE. After soaking build per manual.

I had the same problem, this method took care of it

Cool, Thanks. can I use the ones I currently have and soak them or does it have to be done with new orings?

Questions?? Axles

When running the #365356 1.5mm Offset 12mm Hexes on the front, does anyone have a issue with wheels coming off? My front wheels keep coming off, there isn't much thread left when running these hexes?

Use a low profile, serrated nut on the wheels. I've been using the ones from Losi and have never lost a front wheel. If I'm not mistaken, it's p/n TLR332011.

+1 on the TLR low profile wheel nuts. Part number is TLR236001 for 4. P/N lsited above has TLR hexes that don't work with the xb4.
