Great to hear about your eyes.
The eyes thing was 20 years ago, just giving an analogy of not realizing something is off until you try it the right way.

Lap times would be irrelevant, as there were other variables-the track was a brand new layout, still very wet(and almost frozen), all of our lap times dropped 3 seconds in a couple weeks, but I would venture to say yes, especially because it felt more consistent. I could actually punch it up the inside of the straight without rubbing the pipe. I also finished a couple spots higher in the A, and the top 2 drivers weren't even there the previous week.

It's really only a simple 3 minute change if you want to form your own opinion.

Or better yet, on the other end of the spectrum, take any other brand car with a setup you are already familiar and comfortable with, and mismatch the inserts to throw the toe off one full degree between sides and see if you notice it I'm guessing that would answer the question even better.

BTW, I'm guessing you meant psychological, not physiological, and surely there is a psychological component involved. If you drive a car that you know to be off you are going to notice it more(that doesn't mean it's not off), and when you have confidence in your setup it can also affect lap times in a positive way(that doesn't mean it's not a better setup).

My most local hobby shop is about 50 miles away and carries only traxxas and some cheaper stuff. I'm lucky to get the right shock fluid when I go in there. If I can't get it id be surprised to see him be able to he it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Running a Novak Vulcan 7.5T motor with no endbell timing or boost on the ESC and running the 81T on the 2015 xb4, what pinion should I start with? I'm thinking a 20T. Does that sound about right?

Thanks!

I ran a 18 and 19 with 81t spur, 6.5 w/10 deg on can, I forget what timing(maybe 20), and it was good for a tight track. You're probably in the ballpark to start with.

FYI, if you can find the center diff adapter XRA364911 and gear XRA364978 then you can build a center diff out of a regular diff, you just need 4 screws to mount the gear, I think they were M3x5mm. Apparently the center diff outdrives are a different part number, but I bought these and a complete fr/rear diff last week and it worked fine. I got the last parts from Amain though.........
I got the info from a FB forum, I'm pretty sure he is a member here as well.

Quick question for you guys...This is my first wheeler. Normally in 2wd buggy I run open cell foams in my front tires with closed cell in the rear. With 4wd I'm sure it is different. Are you guys running closed cell all around? Or using open celled foams in the front?

Wow I was just on Amain thinking about ordering this car but noticed all the bad reviews about the rear brace being off. After going through this thread looks like Xray refuses to admit there is a problem. It's hard for for to spend that kind of money and not get the support from a company in denial. I really wanted to get this car, heard it preformed great and I'm pretty much done with my 44.3. Hmmmm what to do.

The 44.3 is a joke. I also had that car. Even with the toe off the car is fantastic! There will be a fix for the rear suspension holder. I wouldn't let that stop you from buying the car.
