the avid carbon uppers are nice for going from A to C hub configurations.

lilws6 02-10-2013 06:18 PM

I run the ae hubs jc axles and ae plastic hexes with no problems

Wildcat1971 02-10-2013 06:25 PM

I use the plastic hexes on my kids truck. I just grub screwed them so they stay on. they work fine.

I can't say enough good things about the Avid hexes on this truck, actually all of the Avid stuff for it (steering rack, slipper, hexes, carbon towers, etc).

As what I have found is that some like different products for the certain part of the conversion, instead of say all AE or Jconcepts Etc. Lets hear some of your experiences on this. Thanks.

Well I use all AE stuff and it works great. I have an RTR and upgraded to FT hubs, FT CVA kit (axles), and FT aluminum hexes with FT aluminum pins. No problems with it whatsoever.

The AE FT hexes "work" well, but the finish was coming off pretty easily for me. My avids on my b4 are 6 months old and still look new.... so yeah. And the avid grip well. Lol at heavy plugging sponsors, lol.

Yea, the finish is coming off on mine too. Not a big deal to me.

What does being able to switch from A to C setup on the hub towers do? Probably asking dumb questions but new to this. Thanks.

Hi all,

The screw for my ball diff keeps coming loose causing that annoying 'bark'. It'll literally last a pack, maybe two before I have to spend another 15 minutes getting it back to the sweet spot.

Time for a rebuild or is there a simple solution?

Cheers :)

Wouldn't it make sense to get a T4.2 and swap the parts from a current SC10 to get a SC10.2 then it would be to try and upgrade everything until the SC10.2 officially comes out?

Seems to me the big thing is swap the chassis/nerf bars and bumpers is all. Sell the wheels and tires on ebay.

I would rebuild it and get a new bolt with the plastic t-nut if it was mine.

Time for a rebuild. Do you have it loose to start with or is tight then backs out alot?

samuelsonmark71 02-11-2013 07:55 AM

Are you sure its in the right way and that the rotating and slight slip of the diff isnt lostening the screw?

I run my sc10 as a t4 also. I convert it back and forth based on what I feel like for the weekend. The next FT sc10 will probably not come with tires, as the b4.2, t4.2 and b44.2 did not come with tires. So if you have a t4.2, just swap the front hubs/hexes (different axle and hex). I actually have 2 sets of complete front hubs, axles and hexes and it takes like 2 minutes. Swap the chassis, nerf bars , front and rear bumpers and mount up some SC10 tires and rims and done. If you already have a sc10, you will have all of the parts and even a body. If you never plan to run it in a t4 configuration, then sell the body, rims and front hexes on ebay.
