dremeled the slots on the motor holder and got it down enough to accept the motor holder, There was no way i was going to dremel the mount too. Still takes some effort to push it all the way in but it gets in and gets out. i put a thin layer of some of the grease that came with the kit as a extra chance of getting it out down the road

Your right this car does seem like it will be a PITA to work on when something needs to be replaced/fixed. Since its on road a lot less stuff breaks(hopefully)

I experienced this during my build. The solution: after applying some blue loctite to the motor screws and securing the the motor tightly to the mounting plate (the piece that slides in), I simply backed off the motor screws 1/2 to 3/4 turn and the mounting plate slid right in like butter. Then just go back and re-tighten the motor screws.

I have nearly a dozen races since the build and have had no issues whatsoever.
I swear i was thinking the same thing but thought the vibrations of the motor would eventually start backing the screws out.

Man there was no way in hell the motor and motor holder was sliding into the mount. I dont care what angle you try it from, I tried for hours it simply does not slide in when the motor holder screws are fully tightened. If you back them out a 1/2 turn like pureevil said then yes but besides that on my car it was not happening.

My Rc8.2 has the same type of motor mount and it always slides in and out like butter. has to be a problem with tolerences from the factory because there was no way mine was going in the way it came

SORRY not true for me. THere was no way it was going in without dremeling the mount. I tried to loosen up the screws. Mine would only go in 1/4 of an inch before getting stuck. Wish I didn't have dremel. I even took it to someone else to see how he mounted his and he didn't have this problem either. He also agreed the dremel was the only way.

Always remember serpent has great service it happened at times. If you have a defected part use the support line. The mount is key having people dremel without experience or common sense is asking for problems not implying.
