I find 2-4 mm in the front and 1-2 in the rear works for me. I think I have 3mm in the front and 1mm in the rear right now.

Ok thanks man

Worst case you can give the C clips a try and buy the shims when you see how much the adjustment helps :p

It took me 6 ball stud washers to get my camber link parallel to the a-arm, axle and toe link.

Does anyone run any bumpsteer washers?

If you are using the stock slipper it could be slipping.

Sorry, I forgot to include my set up in that first post.

MMP w/bec
tekin pro 4 4000 on 2s
Spectrum radio gear
Savox 1258tg servo
mtk clutch basket with 3 garodisks

Recently replaced parts include

All bearings
Rear top shaft
Both Idler gears
Both belt pulleys
Belt
Rear Gearbox
Rear Diff Case
Spur and Pinion Gears

After installing the new bearings the truck does feel a bit smoother but the noise was unaffected.

Thats a lot of parts replaced. If you are hearing a clicking or grinding sound it is your rear diff.

Its more of a high pitched squeal. I forgot to put the internal diff gears and shims on that list. Those are also new.

need some pointers on a carpet setup. kinda small tight carpet.
just picked up a used sc104x4 rtr
looking for a good setup for indoor carpet.
truck came with sway bars.
I pulled rtr motor and esc and have a viper 10.5t 540 motor coming for it as well as a hobbyking 100a sensored esc.
looking for help on shock oils, sway bars, diff oils, springs. whatever help I can get is appreciated as I am new to this vehicle but not 4wd or rc.

thanks!http://www.rcshortcourse.com/forum/i...lies/thumb.gif
ran it in stock form friday night. motor was waaaay too much. the truck really seemed soft. It body rolled a ton!

currently i think it has blue springs up front with yellow in back. 40wt oil in front with 35 in back and stock 1.2 pistons.
diff oils 5k front and rear

what sway bars?? or no sway bars

Rawwolf 01-04-2012 03:46 PM

Thanks for the help deceiding. If the guy still has the truck I will get it from him. It was a really good deal so more likely it is already gone. Most ppl at my track say get the losi but I just cant bring myself to buy a losi. Just seems wrong to me. LOL

Run the yellow bars. The biggest ones in the kit front and rear.

Stock ride height doesn't mean much. Do you have a ride height gauge? I run my ride height around 20 to 22 mm's front and rear (measured at the front and back of the battery pack if you have a stick pack installed). Swaybars make you less likely to roll over, so you could bump up to the stiffer ones. I have the stiffest in the front with the middle bar in the rear.

The Pro4 4000 kv motor may be the size of a 540 motor, but it is so much more powerful you will strip a 48 pitch spur or wear it out very quickly. Plus it's hard to find 48 pitch pinions with a 5mm bore. Just stick to 32 pitch, grab some pinions from 13-16 and you'll be good to go.

I thought that stiffer sways would make off-road cars roll over easier since it doesn't let the body roll and would cause the inside wheels to lift instead of letting the outside shocks compress more.

(not saying that your wrong, just trying to understand)
