Two points:

- You can get the body way lower if you take a dremel tool with a rotary stone and notch the body right where it hits the downtubes on the front bumper.

- I'd add 3-4 oz of lead to the RF corner of the chassis. You need the weight anyway, and the truck has wedge when you run the stick battery so you have to either switch to saddles or ballast that corner.

Then ...

The first to post about the chassis brace and told you guys how to install and why it was necessary .

The latest ?

Was Kody's personal set-up , before Ae has even posted on Rc10.com...:sneaky:

I do come off a bit know it all , bald arrogant sob.
Nobody's perfect .....:cry::lol:

Yet the info & posts I try to share with everyone
here on RcTech & not everywhere else on the net ?

Is to just help make your racing the Ae Sc4x4 even more fun ....

I have to say this thread is entertaining as hell! When your job is to "Protect and Serve" it means shift work and catching up on the latest "gossip" going on here kills the down time. On occasion I even find a new tidbit of information that leads to a setup change or new gizmo for my truck. Keep up the good work guys!! :)

I plan on buying this conversion kit was it easy to install? And when did you order it that you received it already?

Chad, he received it quickly as he got 1 of the 10 production samples I had. Unfortunately, all 10 are gone, so all the orders coming through are pre orders now. The list is not deep and the product, I guarantee is of better quality, performance and fit than using the B44 parts.

i thrw in a 540 8.5 today to see how it was. more top end than my 6.5 550, smoother acceleration and lower temps. i'm guessing longer run times too without using a timer. whats the benefit of using the 550's over 540's? the truck is light enough for a 540 and can be overpowered with a 550. guess i'll run the 540's for now and see how it goes in race conditions.

vito 12-28-2011 08:14 AM

can i use the basket and pin slipper at the same time ?

Ok thanks, do you know when the parts are coming in? I would need mine before Jan. 22nd do you think if I order know I would receive it before then?

Don't forget the pin modification. ICRC you were the one who brought that one to light, and got a ton of flack for your trouble.

If it works for you, awesome! It's certainly easier on the slipper.

Oddly, that was exactly the opposite result I had, except the smoother acceleration. My 4.5 550 runs about 120 at 10 minutes, my 6.5 540 goes thermal in five minutes and isn't as quick. User Cameron Kellogg has had good luck with 540 motors, but his key to getting them to live is the Yeah Racing YA-0180 fan for additional cooling. I haven't tried it at the track yet. It has enough output to suck a small poodle through it when I run it off the receiver.

Cameron runs his off of the 8.4v lipo!

When were the first batch of center diffs going out again? Not to rush, but need to do some other maintiance on the truck and will be a week or so before I get to drive again, so figured I'd wait and do it all at once if it was coming this week.

They should be here before then. Shipping Priority is 3 days in the USA, so my guess is yes, but don't quote me on it. Our Factory is so overloaded right now that they have been taking longer than usual to deliver product.

What's up man, I'm from Orlando. The 550 is good when you have a smaller track and want to blip the throttle to get it to go over a double jump. They have the torque where you don't need a running start.

Most people who have run 550's originally have switched over to a 540 for speed, lightness, balance, etc.

The new batch of 540 motors that are sensored are almost as powerful and grunty as the 550 but have the top end speed as well.
