Thanks kghills! Video is awesome.

Orings
Craig/Coyote thanks for the input regarding the O-rings. That was the one improvement I hadn't seen mentioned in quite some time. They are ordered and on the way! First race with my rig this weekend. I think I have a pretty good base starting point for this track:
www.capefearraceway.com videos are at the bottom! For you veterans any feedback would be appreciated. For what's it worth I plan to run it pinned with basket, hd pad behind and standards in the basket until my Garodisks arrive. 10k/5k in the diffs and 30/27.5 in the FT shocks....the slipper nut is set flush with the top shaft end. |

CraigMBA, why do you persist on polluting up the thread with garbage? again, this reverts to a previous post I posted up, things of this nature are reasons why people become an embarrassment to this industry, there is a place and time for shenanigans, this thread is one the place for it. Last, this is a place for information on our trucks, we're here to support new-comers and those who are looking for help with our trucks, save the pedo photos for another thread or forum at that.
People who you're acting like who lack the ability of 'having a good time' outside specs, setups, tuning; are why i've almost quit racing all together a couple times now. I go to a Track or Shop to race, have fun and talk. Not walk into a Dungeon. Christ. ----------------- rcjunky, I think that track is a perfect example of a 'Pinned track'. I think you will do well. Goodluck this weekend. |

He'll never stop till he's banned... BACK ON TOPIC... I'm having a problem with my shocks leaking badly now. I never had this problem before now. I rebuilt my shocks with new rings and this started. So I put my old ones (old rings) and it still does it with them which it never did before. I used green slime like normal and did everything the same. I'm gonna try some of the trackstar rings if they ever come back in stock. Any one have a solution or fix for this? Or am I stuck till I get the trackstar rings? |

The spacer between the o rings is slightly too long in my kit. You can try using an emery board to file it down .5 mm or so. Mine would squash the factory X rings so bad it would hardly move, and that can't be good for the seal. You don't have to cram it all the way down tight. Mine are backed off 1/4 from full tight. I install the cartridge with the retaining plastic lock jam nut thingy backed off a couple of turns, and adjust tighter it till the O rings start to bind on the shaft, but only AFTER I get the cartridge installed on the shaft. If you are tightening it up before you put it over the shaft, the O rings are likely getting pinched between the shaft and the cartridge on installation.

About six months ago, there was way too much crying and fighting on the internets with a group of guys who were running the same oval series I was, but in another class. I went out and bought two dozen pacifiers, and handed them out after qualifing. TQ got the pink one, everyone else in the class got a blue one because I didn't want anyone to feel left out. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...05C-orig-1.jpg Everybody got the message, I think, but I have five or six stashed in my transmitter bag, just in case. Greenbriar Industries, FTW. |

You know what? People who can't have a good time and laugh once in a while are an embarassment to themselves. Lighten the Eff up. He's put in his share of information and answered dozens of questions with very well thought out posts for the newbs and veterans alike. Why would I get banned? I haven't broken anything in the TOS, not even close, and I post good tech.
The Green Slime is over rated, it's just assembly lube. Any grease is going to work. Shock oil will work too. The spacer between the o rings is slightly too long in my kit. He'll never stop till he's banned... Not saying he needs to be banned, ultimately he hasn't really done anything wrong other then post rant and some useless pictures, my point is, there's a place for it and it's not here. |
