Speaking of which, at what point (ie- the number of shims under the inner ballstud) do you take off the 8mm riser on the rear hub carrier?

What track conditions do you have? What tires? What compounds? Tread or slick? These all are factors. When traction is way up and your running real sticky tiers then it's mandatory for me. Because I'll roll all over the place. If you have poor traction then it's not as necessary.

I run on wet soft clay. And traction can very from corner to corner. I never traction rolled with the mod, but in all honestly, the corners I did roll in, I should have probably slowed down more before the corner. So I took it off.

wow with this all being said.. i am going to try them without... too much info all at once!!! i am so confused now   just got back from ae too.. got some new shims and a new updated top shaft to try with the inner coupler

Pinning the top shaft and running the Exotek clutch are the same thing. Only difference is your idler gear is not stressed with the Exotek. You'll likely strip the rear pulley instead which is easier to replace.

Wildcat1971 07-25-2012 11:03 AM

The pinned top shaft still slips right. The inside hub is just directly attached to the shaft instead of spinning, correct? The exotek spins on the shaft but locks up the front slipper. The pinned shaft makes it into a b4 style sipper where front and rear slip the same, but the exotek allows the rear to slip and the front to not slip. No?

saw the article about AE winning 7 classes at hot rod hobbies shootout. How did it do in the 4wd SCT classes?

Looks like Tanner Denney made the A - Main, but didn't podium.

Fine with external bec now, I didn't think I would have to go there with the rx8's 5a bec... but I did.

Wow. I run a 1258 with an RX8/Novak Ballistic 4.5t, and I never have any brownout issues.

Seen it happen when using Spektrum radio, easy fix is to add a cap on the receiver side ....

Denney placed 8th and looked to be the only AE driver in Pro 4 class.
Again the SC10 4x4 the red headed step child not really liked at the family reunion but had to be invited because he's family.
