My servo came loose but that was an easy fix. My belt was slipping and it messed up the front pulley but I think that was because I didn't have the tension set up right. I will go on the tight side next time. Other than that, this thing is great. Just a pain to do fast fixes on . once the belt loosened, with some hard braking, the belt can come off the front pulley and tensioner. just tighten the tensioner up, front and rear, and keep checking, and make sure you install the tensioners the right way around, the way the book says. dont install if backwards, it has a different offset. |
Well, got the rear swaybars...now I need the front...and the one store I've found that has them doesn't do PayPal (long story as to why that's a necessity). Anyone know of a place that has them and will handle PayPal?

Anybody got a 5.5T 550 they want to trade for a castle 1410 and a tenshock 4000kv motor. LMK

I run a 2wd Slash right now and I am looking to try 4wd. I have a kit on order and I am looking at motors. If I understand things right, a lower KV gives more torque but less top speed. Given I am a total novice, would a (SC4X?) 550 7.5 be the best bet? I only want 3 things: 1) To learn to run some clean laps! 2) To keep temps on the motor and ESC low enough so I don't have to obsess over them, 3) Have enough "grunt" to clear a few obstacles.
Thanks! Edit: pic of track - http://www.bullringrc.com/images/sc2.jpg The outer lane is a dirt oval and not really part of the off-road track. |

http://www.dynamichobbies.net/gallery/index.php I think they got three and I picked up one of them Friday. You'll probably have to call them to see if they still have them...their web site leaves a lot to be desired. |

I'm fairly novice myself, and with the 12/62 gearing, the truck was very driveable in stock trim. If you also run an RX8 for your speed control, you can tune the power down some too. Temps will NOT be an issue with that gearing, unless you have bad binding in your drivetrain. I suggest the 5.5T/RX8 combo so that you can tone it down, but still have the power available as you get better...no need to buy a new motor... Currently I'm running the 5.5T with 16/62 gearing in 80 degree temps...running hard for 10 minutes and it comes off at 150-160 degrees. If I recall correctly, Randy Pike once said the SC4x motors are comfortable up to 170...at 170 you want to start gearing down, or doing other things to cool the motor.... I run with 80% current limiter, which I think might help with temps, and definately helps keep the truck from getting too squirrly... |

So my questions are I'm getting into racing where should the slipper clutch screw be How tight for a very loose slippery track ... 2nd as far as the shocks that come with the kit what weight oil should use rite now I have 30wt rear and 35 wt in front ,as far as upgrading the bearings in the truck do you think this is worth it or are the bearings that come with the kit good enough. Thanks for all your Guys help. Any help with this would be appreciated thanks jay
