So my questions are I'm getting into racing where should the slipper clutch screw be How tight for a very loose slippery track ... 2nd as far as the shocks that come with the kit what weight oil should use rite now I have 30wt rear and 35 wt in front ,as far as upgrading the bearings in the truck do you think this is worth it or are the bearings that come with the kit good enough. Thanks for all your Guys help. Any help with this would be appreciated thanks jay

I have mine pretty tight but I run on a hard packed clay track, so not sure about how you should run yours since I've never ran on that type of track........ For the shock oil I would stay with what you have in the front and drop the rear to 25w...... I've had no issues with the bearings but if there are better ones out there I don't see how it could hurt anything, but not sure if it'll improve anything.......... I'll leave that answer up to the experts ;-)

If you run an esc that has current limiting, you can increase your traction and drivability that way. Some Expo will help. A lighter touch on the trigger will help. Proper tires for the track will help. Working on your set up will help.

Lots of laps of test and tune will help the most. It'll tell which of the things above in combination will give you your best results. IT's a steep, but fun learning curve.

I wouldn't, however, try loosening the slipper. At the stock setting (3.5mm of thread showing), you'll glaze your pads in a raceday.

Double Slipper Kit is the Bomb!!!

So there is a guy on this forum selling a kit that allows you to run a double slipper pad setup for the rear wheel drive of this truck and all I will say is the kit is the bomb! My slipper temps went way down and the forward bit of the truck was plan crazy! I didn't have to pull slipper apart and sand the pads even once all weekend! I run a lot of motor in my truck and was getting concerned of the slipper holding up. Now it is perfect! I highly reccommend this kit as it has made a great truck even that much better!

The dual slipper pad clutch basket works great. Other guys running the stock slipper with the 'high torque' pad are replacing them every run and struggle to clear big jumps late in the race, cuz they glaze so bad. I never touch it and can pull wheelies on the grippy parts of the track. I bet AE is working on a FT optional dual slipper pad/new gear cover setup as we speak. :ha:

Did I miss this part somewhere? Don't remember seeing the dual disk option...link please?

gave my truck a rewire/makeover this past week :D moved the esc all the way back and put it on some scales. the left front was about 20 grams lighter than the right front. looks much cleaner now IMO...

I'm glad to hear that, as I tried just the HD pad and prefer the feel of the regular old AE slipper pads. There was absolutely no difference at all at the speed to which the HD pad glazed and even when new, it just didn't "feel" right to me.
