You didnt look at the last 2 pages :weird: We discussed it already, Krio summed it up nicely on pg 776.

You can also use the search button in this thread and type in diff oil and it will bring up info as well.

Yes, endpoints are set correctly. I think the servo saver was just to tight. Both breakages were after bad landings.

Evil,

If you post your setup we can help. When do you plan to be at ECH? I'll be happy to take a look.

100k is to thick IMO.

So this saturday I went racing. It was pretty dead because of Thanksgiving. There are normally 15+ 4x4 sc. Well, I had some trouble in the first 2 heats and qualified 3rd... out of 4 people. The main consisted of 2x losi ten scte's and 2x sc10 4x4. NMDESERTRACER is the black one and I am the blue and white with the yellow in the front. We lost 1 truck (losi) on the second lap, lost a tire. I got hit by the other losi and had my body pushed into my tire and got stuck on the other side. Being that it was only the three of us, we had some fun. Heres the video of our race. If you dont want to watch the entire thing, go to the 5:35 time in the movie and watch one of the most amazing and spectacular things I have ever seen in almost 18 years of racing R/C cars. My truck is the one that gets launched and NMDESERTRACER's truck (both sc10 4x4's) is the one doing the launching. Check it out guys.:lol:

DIFF OIL

LET ME BREAK THIS DOWN SOME MORE. EHH EEMMM
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES TO RUNNING LIGHTER AND THICKER OIL IN A FRONT AND REAR DIFF.
I obviously don't get what the post on page 776 is getting to, plus that is only for the front!!!!
Cut me some slack, im new to the site, i don't have a 4x4 yet, and just need a little info.

Correct.
Thicker front fluid removes entry and mid corner steering while adding to on power steering. The pin mod also removes entry steering while adding on power steering (and making it more consistent in med/slick consitions), so that is why most people go down on the front diff oil when adding said mod.

MSU - see above.

Just explain a little more and someone would of helped you. All you need to really worry about is the front diff the majority of people are staying close to stock weight in the rear. (stock is 3k) most are running (5-7k). The front diff changes the handling of the car more.
To break it down a little more. Thicker front fluid makes the truck easier to drive, it takes away the twitchy steering or some of the super fast steering this truck has. Going lighter does the opposite.

It all really depends on your track and your driving style you will have to play with different fluid weights and see what works better for you.

(Someone correct me if I am wrong dont want to tell MSU incorrect info).

I plan to be at ECH on the 10th, can't make it this week. I also have a chassis brace and rebars that I can switch in or out.
