Where are people running antenna wires when they dont use the standard location?

New to RC Buggies/Trucks/Which one?

Ok guys.. After looking at some different threads.. I've kind of narrowed it down to a few options. I'd like a off road electric and just want to here some of your inputs. Again.. I don't mind putting together my own kit and picking ESC/Motor etc. So here's what I came up with:

- Vorza(lots of aftermarket parts that come from nitro D8? correct?)
-Ve8
- RC8be
- Losi 8EIGHT
- SC10 4x4
- Losi 10 SCTE

So.. I've listed a few options.. There's a few I'm sure I didn't list.. Ofna and Jammin etc.. A few are 1/8 buggies and a couple are 1/10 truck. I'm not opposed to the trucks because they look cool. Are the trucks just as versital with jumping/different terrain? Primarily will be recreational. No racing "yet". I fly electric Heli so I'm familiar with Lipos/ESC's etc. Is it less headache to go with a RTR like the Vorza or to build a kit? I realize RTR's are built in a factory.. So parts might be missing/not built correctly/loctite not applied or applied too much or where it shouldn't be etc. Primarily looking for something with high quality, durability and performance. Thoughts?"

In my opinion The Rc8bE is a stout buggy. but when you talk 1/8 scale vs 1/10 scale the easiest factor to consider is cost. whether it be parts or batteries/electronics.

1/8 scale cost most. most batteries are 3s 4s and more. but they get $$$ QUICK. stick with a 1/10 scale sct if you wanna beefy car and have some cheaper fun. whether is the losi or the AE you cant go wrong

I'm looking to replace my scrt10 with a 4x4 sc10. What else should I order with the truck. I'm going to use the same electronics that's in my jammin now. Mmp, bec, novak 4.5 550, 9351 servo. So just mainly need to know what I should upgrade right out of the box? Diff/ shock oils? Also im a pretty clean driver but what parts should I keep on hand?

I know this isn't your exact question, but I keep the wire tied up neat and tidy beside my radio, and have a short 1.5" to 2" antenna in the regular spot....I've never had an issue with range or glitching or having the antenna bent from a crash...

Yeah mine is kinda just "laying there" as well. I have the small Spektrum antenna which is also just about 2", I could tie it up but wasnt sure if its supposed to be bent.

Although I have not broke a part on mine, I would deffinatly order the following:
front/rear a-arms
32p pinions
32p spur gear
front steering knuckle
High torque slipper pads(a must IMO!)
rear hubs
belt
shock piston hardware(easy to lose and has specific pieces)
trackstar o-ring (swap them out asap)
50k 30k 10k 7k 5k diff fluid

If you driv clean you will likely not have to use any of these parts for quite ome time, but its better to be safe than sorry. Not really any upgrades in there, just back ups. Im waiting for the lightend outdrives and Tin shock shafts.

Thanks man. It looks like sway bars are optional. ? Do the diffs seem to hold up well with the 550 motors?

Yeah, the truck doesn't come with swaybars and they are highly recommended. Some online shops have them in stock, you just gotta hunt around for them (and get lucky).

I got a set of the hot racing sway bars they actually mount to the 2 back holes on the front bumper mounts. The provided aluminum spacer.were too big to fit in.the bumper mount holes. I machined about 30 thou off and good to go. All together not bad gonna try them out tomorrow night. Also the screw for the ball joints at the a arms were too long.

Yea that's odd why they don't come with the kit. They make a world of difference on all my rc's. Owell I guess that's a way to keep the price down for the consumers.

Duh, i forgot about the sway bars because i made my own, they helped out alot though, another must!

Question, what batteries ae you guys running? My gens ace 40c 5000mah and my nano-tech 25-50c 6000mah batteries ar getting hot, 120-130 degs. It seems that the tenshock and the castle pulls some amps?!
Im looking at the promatch 60c 6200mah batteries, anyone try these?

I have been running the 60c 6000 Mah pack from Epic/ReVtech. They don't even get warm and handle the load great. The power is strong and constant for an entire 10min run plus.
