The R 10 is a older brush ESC , will not handle the load a Sc 4x4 brings very well, suggest something else that can ...

Maybe you mean the R1 ?

pinion suggestion

14t 32 pitch / 62 spur

The Orion r10 pro is not a brushed esc.

I tried a search but...does anyone have ant pro/cons using the R10 with a Reedy 550 5.5? What should my gearing be for a large indoor clay med/high traction? thanks

Works just fine. I believe I was running a 12-13 tooth with the stock spur (62t?), and an LRP 5.5. I had plenty of room to go up another tooth or two on my home track, but YMMV.

No matter what chassis you have, the rear springs are too soft if you want to run blues or yellows in the front. George is entitled to his opinion, and I'm comfortable with my calculations that disagree.

I just don't understand your logic or your complex frequency mesurements. Im telling you Blue fronts on the front and blue rears on the rear felt better to me on my truck where I run, so why do you insist we should move to a much higher rate front spring and the truck will be better? When I just went softer and I like the feel and handling charitaristics. I think it must be the surface you run on or your driving style. No body is wrong if they come up with a setup that feels good to them. Anyway I'm more inclined to follow cherrys advise because he's in my neighborhood and runs on the same tracks as me. You think I bought softer springs because my shocks didn't feel firm enough? Im not trying to offend you. Im actually done talking about it. I'm good. YOU WIN!

I measured my springs with a stop watch .....(JK) LoL

Do what feels right to you man I have followed all the info from people in here on outdoor tracks and indoor I never liked the heavy spring set up.

LRP flow

Is anyone using a LRP flow in there truck? Just curious, I have swaped Tekin for LRP this year.

what would be the better buy for my sc10 4x4, a havoc pro sc with 4.5t motor, or the mamba max pro sct with 1410?

And I run on the same tracks as "Craig MBA" and his set ups work on our outdoor tracks..and your correct on set ups, it's all in how you like your car/truck to work..

Somebody around these parts taught me this..
Sometimes after you make a change it can feel better you might like it better, but it isn't always guaranteed to be faster in the clock. I changed to a different spring package on time and it felt great to me, I liked it better. But lap times were -.5seconds slower after a 10 lap average.. So I changed back and tested again and again one day. 3 times over. At the end I the day I had confirmed without a doubt which package was better. In the end it was the stiffer setup that felt more aggressive and harder to drive in comparison.
Point if the post is.. Check your lap time average and test over and over, a lot. The times won't lie but going by "feel" will.

I agree to a point ryanpatrickgore. You may find that you have a higher ceiling with one setup than another.

superspeed 03-15-2013 08:36 AM

Set up the car that you are most comfortable driving with.

ESC wise, LRP and Tekin plus Novak are very solid contenders.

9turn 03-15-2013 08:37 AM

Sounds like you came into looses faster But looses hard to drive

Wild Cherry 03-15-2013 08:49 AM

Oasis
Just curious when was the last time you raced outdoors ?
Has the season started down there yet ?
