So I was going thru my parts and saw that I had some shims and b44 aluminum hub towers. Can I use the b44 hub towers for the 8mm mod? I thought I saw somewhere someone use these?
Also the I found some 3/16 axle shims and was wondering if I could use these to shim my gear diff? http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...6769912613.jpg |
Use the Carbon brace for the rear hub mod & stick with the shims Ae uses for the diff's...

It's been fun thanks!
Found this thread a month after picking up the SC10 4x4 when it first came out. I know from following this thread that most of the original people who spear headed all the tech on the original version of this truck have moved on. All of them had the smarts and know how to take this kit truck from a highly anticipated over hyped poor attempt of a short course 4x4 to a half way decent performer. The Mac the knife clutch baskets, rear top shaft pinning, RC Shox garo discs, center diff, dual stage pistons and AKbar ackerman steering bar, carbon fiber chassis braces, replacing warped arms, saddle pack conversions, front springs on the rear, 8mm rear mod, Exotek chassis and more I have tried all in the hunt to get this truck to drive better. All these mods were due to the guys smarter than me on here at rctech. I have said in the past that AE owes credit to their FT version of the SC10 4x4 to guys on this thread. They won't say but I will. Thanks guys for all your help. It was frustrating and fun but like others it's time to move on. Well finally sold my SC10 4x4. Posted it today and it sold in about 2 hours.:D

Anybody that needs a spur gear let me know. I found one NIP in my hobby room a minute ago and I no longer own a sc10 4x4. Just give me a few bucks to cover shipping and it's yours.
It's part#91094 32P-62T http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Spur-Gear-62T |

I still enjoy handing it to those guys who already sold and so called upgraded ..
Funny , only a few have left really. Same dudes who swore those after market parts made them faster . Even though they still have no results to show it was true .... Only proves to everyone here who was selling crap & who was really trying to help the Sc10 4x4 perform... |

Only proves to everyone here who was selling crap & who was really trying to help the Sc10 4x4 perform... Says the guy who swore up and down the street that the original AE slipper system was the tits and the only thing needed to play with the big boys. Down played all those who went with the ingenious Mac the Knife clutch basket but never even tried it. Now a year and 1/2 later can't stop raving about the copycat AE VTS slipper and Avid Triad system. Don't all those look like variations of Mac's clutch basket from a year ago? Hmm? Now don't even mention that he has never tried the RC Shox Center Diff but gives it no credibility. The Center Diff seemed to be a huge game changer in performance for this truck for many who have tried it like me. Well he may have given it some cred if it were anodized blue and have a part number starting with ASC. Oh and don't drink the Kool Aide thinking he came up with trying 8th scale shock on this truck calling it his "13mm shock mod". Can't remember who but someone already tried it a year ago but the consensus was that it may be a tad overkill as those shocks were meant to dampen 7 lbs sleds. Not really needed on a truck barely tipping 5 1/2. Not a bad upgrade thou but certainly wasn't his brainchild idea. All you newbs on here who think because this yak posts five times on every page of this thread everyday it makes him an expert you are in for a surprise. Yeah some of his tech is useful maybe like how to drill body holes but even that is suspect. He11 the guy has online grammar the level of a grade schooler texting. He can't even put a sentence together. I liked the SC10 4x4 after all the modding I did but I went as far as I could go with it. Maybe it actually wasn't the truck's fault I'm moving on. Maybe it was tunnel visioned hypocritical buffoons like this. Oh well guys you have been warned. |

Only proves to everyone here who was selling crap & who was really trying to help the Sc10 4x4 perform... Haven't sold it yet, I like the truck... but I love Mugen. Good truck for indoor for sure and there are some manufacturers that make parts to improve the AE 4x experience... just sayin. |
nah WC, I think he just doesn't feel the need to assume anyone with an opinion that differs from his is lying ...
He also values actually using something before commenting on it definitively that its good or bad from his perspective ... Oh, and he probably feels that credit should be given to those aftermarket companies that really helped the vehicle in the early days versus just doing the ostrich thing concerning the known issues before AE made a similar part? Though, I'll bite WC on a comment you made concerning those who made the switch ... These guys who made the switch and are getting it handed to them by you, what are their names? Were they whipping you before they did the switch? And of those who did the switch to another platform WC and are getting it handed to them by you, how many switched back? It would be interesting to see what their opinions are concerning how the switch went. So please, refer them back to this thread and your post. Any insight they can give could be quite helpful to people considering doing the switch. Or, maybe this would be easier, for anyone out there, if you switched to another platform and then back to the sc10 4x4, please comment on why? As for me WC, we will see how the switch goes. If the SCT410 doesn't live up to what I need it to do, I'll definitely give the SC10 4x4 a look again since I am comfortable with the platform after putting all the aftermarket upgrades on it that actually work ;) Whether or not you wish to believe it, not believe, etc. that's fine. It is what it is. |
I have found the info on this tread to be helpful in most cases, but I beleive that it's going to take me doing my own testing and tweaking to the SC10 4X4 thats going to make my final decision if this is the truck for me.
I feel that WC is just tryong to help and be honest in his opinion what he has found to work and in some cases not. IMO |

Jammr,
Did you just pull rctech rank on me!? Lol, come on bro this is a hobby thread on the internet. I understand people come here for serious help and we have a duty to promote our hobby but we live in america. WC can say whatever the hell he wants. If you have been biting your tounge for a over a year because someone doesn't follow your advice/opinion giving protocol you may be taking things a bit to serious. Put him on your ignore list and move on. Go turn some laps, have a beer, play with the kids, something, anything.... |
