A lot of it depends on track size. I would say a good starting gear initially with the 3800 - 4000kv motors would be a 13T or 14T pinion and check temps.

For the motor you are using, this is the 4 pole version right that is made to use in vehicles like the SC10 4x4? (ie - 4x4 SCTs)

Yes, it's a 4 pole 3800.

cool.

That's the gearing I personally would start with.

Thanks

no prob. If you can, see about doing the motor fan setups you find on this thread. They help a lot with motor temps.

When you do the rear camber link mod, you use the same spacer on the rear hub as you do the bulkhead (exotek rear hubs)

I use the exotek rear hubs last sunday and matched up the spacers on the bulkhead exactly to the hubs and it worked fantastic. I won the Losi infested A main with that adjustment. The truck really woke up and rotated very well in the corners, even with using the front overdrive pulley. Other than a sway bar adjustment, the kinwald setup really works on an indoor clay track.

And not to make this an exotek advertisement, but the steering rack worked really well too.

I'm gonna cross my fingers and attempt to run this truck outdoors in the spring.

can you try something dominic since you have the exotek carriers as it would be quick adjustment?

Can you try the following:

- Lower the amount of spacers under the carrier only, note what you see
- Lower spacers under inner ballstud and hub, note what you see
- Lower spacers under inner ballstud but raise on hub, note what you see

I would say do this in a significant manner (say 7mm versus 1mm, etc), I was going to see about doing this myself in some fashion on carpet to confirm a few things but no longer have the vehicle.

i've previously ran the inner link 2mm lower than the hub carrier and the truck squared up just fine, but it rotated better when the link heights were equal regardless of height. I try to focus on forward momentum on all of my rc vehicles, and those exotek hubs have helped create corner speed with the tuning option of height adjustment( I even put exotek hubs on my sc10 2wd for that adjustment as well)

Just remember, not everyone slows down before the corner and drives through them under power, they usually stand on the brakes mid corner and wonder why when they accelerate out of a corner the truck is loose. The anti squat doesnt do squat when a truck is gliding into a corner, you gotta be either on the brakes or accelerating.

I did get the STRC aluminum bellcrank so we'll see how that works.

Soooo bummed. Got to the track today to test the 16mm shocks, turned on the esc and nothing. No lights, blips, bleeps, smoke...nothing. Ran a ton of 2wd drive laps instead... :(

Hate it when that happens....

On the plus side, I ran some pretty quick 2wd laps, and had a blast. It was dialed. Finished the day off with happy hour tacos and beers. A bad day of rc is still better than a good day at work?!?!

Can someone tell me what size the thrust bearing is in the sc10 4x4? Thank you.
