I just took apart my entire front end (to adjust the servo position and change my diff oil to 20k from 30k due to rear wheels with insane grip).. I've run about 50-60 packs through the truck so far and my diffs look like new.. the shims show not even the slightest sign of bending or wear. I did add limiters after 30-40 packs, but not before then.. the only thing I can think of is that I put RPM arms on my truck first thing. The front diff had started leaking some, the rear isn't losing a drop, though.

Nice report. Looks like RPM is the way to go.
Front diff from 20>30k? Are you running RCshox C-diff?
I'm asking, because I'm about to take my front diff apart.

Nope, just the VTS slipper. I run Schumacher Mini-Spike in the rear (similar to kourse kings) and they provide awesome grip on astroturf, but eat up lots of steering. Going lighter should help with that.

You want to run 5k to 7k in the front diff running the C-Diff.
5k oil will give you a little more steering than 7k.
I am at 7k and I like the way it is running, gonna try 5k on my next rebuild to see how that does.

Thanks fq06, you're a big help again. Thanks

...this is a bummer... I think I'm may be missing some parts from my RCshox C-diff parts kit.

Default Possible missing parts from RXshox Center Diff Kit for SC10 4x4

As I'm installing the RCshox Center diff kit. RCS-V1V2 Upgrade
I may be missing a part for installation?
Using the link below as installation reference.
I appear to be missing the blue disc shown in picture #7, but my provided spur gears have holes only large enough for the shaft.
Is this something I should purchase seperately, or should it be included?
Did I get only the upgrade kit supposed for if I already had an RCshox Center Diff?
Still trying.

I'm troubled that NO intructions came with my RCshox stuff.

You should have two of those blue disk spacer things, email Marcus and I'm sure he will drop one in the mail as soon as the post office is open.

Sucks to get a part that you are eager to install and you come up short on parts. Marcus is a one man show though and he packs everything himself... so I guess there was a slip up on your package

Send him a PM and he will fix things. Marcus is super legit. If you need any help with center diff let me know. Good luck.

Thanks guys...
I'm wondering still, if I may be OK.
My slippers, and C-diff spurs both have smaller holes in the middle, that are the same size as the shaft...
I'll continue to see if my application is simply different than the one in the picture.

I forgot to get C-diff lube. My LHS opens in a few.
I'll try to get the Team Associated C-diff clear grease... but if they don't have it, is there a substitute?

The blue spacers hold the rings on not the spur. Can you post a pic of what you got?

I just rebuilt both my diffs with 5k to match up with the RC Shox center diff. Truck feels really good. Steering is spot on, not twitchy but it goes exactly where I want it too. Good steering response on power and off power. I originally had the 7k up front and had a slight on power push, the 5k seems to have taken that away.

Also, the thrust washers are machined different, read from post 1007 and down for the explanation. Thrust bearing balls stick out more on one side, the side that the balls stick out more on goes to the outside. Shallow thrust washer first, thrust bearing, deeper washer second. You will notice a thicker lip looking down on them for the shallow one and a thinner lip for the deeper one (more metal machined out, less lip).
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...rvices-68.html

Get AE black grease for the thrust washer (load it up with plenty) and if they dont have AE clear diff lube, they will have some kind of diff lube there... doesn't really matter as long as it's diff lube.

Marcus' post:
Keddy discovered that one of the thrust bearing washers has a smaller ID than the other and the smaller one needs to go on first. besides that just make sure you have the thrust bearing lubed well with grease but not ball dif grease.

If you have no v1 center diff kit and ordered just the upgrade kit for 16 bucks, you are missing whatever comes with the v1.
You'd have to order the full kit if you don't own a v1.

You can't run it without the blue spacer.
