No one said that you HAVE to have the exotech chassis. When you race for the factory team you have to use factory parts and figure out a way to make them work. His truck would have been better with the chassis for sure but he is obviously a better driver than most of us. You cannot compare him to the struggles that most of us have with this truck on large jump tracks, there are 1000's of us and only a handful of the factory guys. If YOU had an SCTE do you think you would have been any closer to him? probably not and that goes for most of us on this thread. If the track is good enough a lot of guys are running slicks, you're going to be in agony compared to them if you're running treaded tires. But that's the easy part, the compound is going to be ultra critical, as is the condition/selection of the insert. Depending on where you run, the inserts will wear out/break down before the tire gives up. The guys I know who run at WCRC and OCRC tell me that the tires are only good for three race days once they go to slicks because the inserts start to break down and then they are junk.

I started at his Spektrum setup and changed the rear diff to 5k, front shocks to 35wt and added 1mm to the rear inner ball stud. I'm also overdriving the front.

I added 2mm more front ball stud spacer (4mm total) and found I didn't like the change (wanted to traction roll easier).

I think I'm almost at the point I'm done chasing a setup and will just focus on driving for a while. I would like to know more about the hub towers though.
