MY truck was running good this past week with the blue FR on. Then this past Sunday after our oval racing we setup a new layout, took the truck out for some quick laps and thought it felt good and was happy with the times I was getting. The local hotshoe then asked to try a couple of laps and beat my best time by 1.5 seconds. So guess it is not the truck at times but maybe the driver

i got my set up from the new guy in town its a novak sport man gbt 2 esc with a 550 4.5 trun motor a dxs c radio with a sr 300 rx and 12 62 gearing to start with.

They most likely underrate there C value. TrueRC lipos does that or at least, that is what people say. So if you need say a 30C pack, and it really performs like a 40C, great. Better that way than a 20C pack actually being overrated at 30C. :D

Yea to me the "C" rating should be how much current it can supply before any noticeable drop in voltage, not how many amps you can pull prior to it catching on fire which I what I think the cheaper guys do.
Some of the expensive guys have C Ratings that are not really clear, and unfortunately, have removed the "clarifications" from there site. |
Speedteck rc has the orions for 89 dollers, it says out of stock but he gets them too u in a week

LOL. I had that happen to me in a way with 1/8 E buggy, a super fast driver wanted to try it out as he was a nitro guy, and promptly was whipping up on the track. He commented on how much steering my buggy had ... I thought it was not enough. :D
Make sure and get a glitch capacitor just in case. Some of the expensive guys have C Ratings that are not really clear, and unfortunately, have removed the "clarifications" from there site. |

Your servo is a great choice, but unf. the spektrum tx/rx's are one of the major reasons why setups get brownouts especially using a HV servo like the s6100....... I am not familiar with the LRP SXX for a 4x4 so I couldn't tell you if it could handle a S6100 and a tenshock motor especially with it being paired with the spektrum tx/rx.......... I know you said you like to be different but to me the tekin rx8 is the best esc you can put on the sc10 4x4 (out of ones I've tried, I hear good things about Orion's R10 pro as well though)..... So if others can chime in on the LRP Sxx on whether or not it would work would help out. Also get really good lipo's, I personally don't run anything that has lower then a 40c rating (sometimes I'll use a 30c but that's just to mess around with)..

Sorry this is kind of unrelated. But, i've got a spektrum tx/rx and planning on getting the same spektrum servo 6100, except with an orion 550 4.0t motor. Already got the r10pro. Even if the servo is on on a voltage regulator, would the esc still be able to handle it? Thanks!
I don't think spektrum HV servo's are as bad as the savox ones so I don't see an issue but I'd still install a cap just incase..... |
Does anyone run the smaller 32 pitch spur gear(smaller than the 62 tooth, I think its a 58 tooth)? If you do what pinion size are you using? If I was running say 12/62 and put the 58 spur in will a 14 pinion make the same equal performance as the 12/62?
|
what are good front and rear sway bars?
|
|
go with the factory sway bars.
I believe my spur is a 60 tooth, I run a 13 tooth pinion with a 4600 and come off around 146 deg. just divide the pinion into the spur and get your ratio. |
